Israel has maintained this was just a big misunderstanding, a case of mistaken identity. They say they thought it was an Egyptian ship.
What refutes this is the tape of the internal Israeli military communication. In 2014 AlJazeera did a documentary that exposes the entire murderous scandal.
Turns out Israel knew it was an America ship all along. They did it because they tried to sink an American ship and blame it on Egypt in order to get America involved in the six day war on behalf of Israel.
They have been trying to cover it up for decades and American politicians tried to do the same.
