⭐️Fact about Space⭐️
✨There is no internationally accepted definition of where space begins. The international Aeronautical Federation(FAI) recognize the Karman line 100km above the Earth's surface as being the boundary between the atmosphere and space.
✨The region around our solar system is known as Local Space. The space between the stars in our galaxy is known as interstellar space, and beyond that is intergalactic space.
✨Contrary to popular belief, space is not an empty vacuum- it is a near vacuum. Each cubic kilometer contains a few drifting atoms of gas and dust.
✨In the region of the sun, this interstellar medium consists of about 90% of hydrogen, 9% of helium and one percent dust.
✨The interstellar dust consists of tiny grains composed mainly of silicate(silicon and oxygen) and graphite(carbon) as well as small amount of iron.
✨Between galaxies, the intergalactic medium consists mostly of ionized hydrogen- atom of hydrogen gas that have had their electron stripped away.
✨Space is so big that miles and kilometers become meaningless, which is why people often use the word 'astronomical' to describe exceptionally large numbers.
✨In local space, distances are often measure in AUs(Astronomical Unit)- one AU is 147,000,000km(the average distance between the Earth and the Sun).
✨Interstellar space is usually measured in light years(ly). One light year is about 9.5 trillion km(the distance light travels in one year).
✨Some astronomers prefer to measure large distances in parsecs(pc). One parsec equals to 3.26 light years, and a kiloparsec(kpc) is 1000 parsecs and a megaparsec(mpc) is 1,000,000 parsecs.
✨Andromeda galaxy(M31), the nearest spiral galaxy to our own, viewed across 740 kiloparsecs(about 2.4 million light years) of intergalactic space.

⭐️The Big Bang⭐️
✨Events happened very quickly at the beginning of the universe. In order to explain what happened scientists use measurements of time that are as small as one ten million trillion trillion trillionth of a second.
✨At first the Universe was indescribably small and hot. It has been getting larger and cooler ever since.
✨In its initial state, the four fundamental forces(strong and weak nuclear force, electromagnetism and gravity) were unified in to a single force.
✨Gravity was the first forve to separate, followed by strong nuclear force. This triggered an event known as inflation and the Universe suddenly became billions of billions times bigger.
✨About one billionth of a second after the big bang, the universe consisted of a dense sea of quarks and other particles.
✨About three minute after the big bang there was a brief period of nucleosynthesis when quarks joined together to form protons and neutrons.
✨For the first 300,000 years the universe remained opaque. Then it became cool enough for proton and neutrons to capture electrons and form atoms.
✨The universe was now transparent to light and other electromagnetic energy.
✨About 100 million years after the Big Bang the first star began to shine.
✨There is much to be discovered about the universe and the big bang.
✨Scientists have recently proposed that there must be a fifth fundamental force(know as dark energy or quintessence) that prevent the universe from collapsing inwards under the force of its own gravity.
✨The big bang fireball blasted out unimaginable amount of energy, dome of which eventually 'cooled' to produce the matter that is formed the first galaxies.

⭐️Light Years Facts⭐️
✨Distance in space are very vast that the fastest thing in the universe, light, is used to measure them.
✨The speed of light is 300,000km/s.
✨The distance in space is so huge they are measured in light years- the distance light travels in a year.
✨A light second is the distance that light travels in one second, 300 million meters.
✨A light year is the distance that light travels in one year, 9.46 trillion km.
✨Light years are one of the standard distance measurements in astronomy.
✨It takes about eight minutes for light from the sun to reach Earth.
✨Light takes 4.22 years to reach Earth from the sun's nearest star, Prixima Centauri. That means the star is 4.22 light years away- more than 40 trillion km.
✨Viewed from Earth proxima Centauri looks like it was 4.22 years ago because its light takes 4.22 years to reach Earth.
✨The star Deneb is 1800 light years away, which means it look like it was when Emperor Septimus Severius ruled Rome(AD 200).
✨Astronomers use Parsec to measure distances. They originally came from parallax shift measurement. A light year is 0.3066 parsecs.

⭐️Dark Matter Facts⭐️
✨Space matter that cannot be seen is called dark matter. Unlike stars and galaxies, it doesn't give of light.
✨There is much more dark matter in Universe than bright. Some scientists think 97 percent of matter is dark.
✨Astronomers know about dark matter because of its gravity pulls on stars and galaxies, changing theirs orbits and the way they rotate(spin round).
✨The visible stars in the Milky Way galaxy are only a thin part, embedded in a big ball of dark matter.
✨Dark matter is of two kinds the matter in galaxies(galactic) and the matter between them(intergalactic).
✨Galactic dark matter may be similar to ordinary matter. However, it burn out early in the life of the universe.
✨Intergalactic dark matter is made up of WIMPs(Weakly Interacting Massive Particle).
✨Some WIMPs are called cold, dark matter because they are travelling slowly.
✨Other WIMPs are called hot, dark matter because they travelling very quickly.
✨The future of the universe may depend on how much dark matter there is. If there is too much, its gravity will eventually stop the universe's expansion, and make it shrink again.
✨A galaxy's bright stars may be only a tiny part of its total matter. Much of the galaxy may be invisible dark matter.

⭐️Extraterrestrial Facts⭐️
✨Extraterrestrial(ET) means 'outside the Earth'.
✨Some scientists believe that ET life could develop anywhere in the universe where there is a flow of energy.
✨Most scientists believe that if there is ET life anywhere else in the universe, it is probably based on the chemistry of carbon, as life on Earth is.
✨People have reported spotting UFOs(unidentified flying object).
✨If civilization exist elsewhere, they may be on planets circling other stars.
✨The organic chemical formaldehyde, can be detected in a radio emissions from the galaxy NGC 253.
✨The Drake Equation was proposed by astronomer Frank Drake to calculate how many civilization there could be in our galaxy.
✨There is no proof that any ET life form has ever visited Earth.
✨Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence(SETI) is a prigram that analysis radio signals from space for signs of intelligent life.
✨The Arecibo radio telescope beamed out a signal to distant stars to try to communicate with Extraterrestrial life.
✨The space probes pioneer 10 and 11 carry metal panels with picture messages about life on earth in to deep space.

⭐️ Fact about Pulsars⭐️
✨A pulsar is a neutron star that spin rapidly, beaming out regular pulses of radio waves.
✨The first pulsar was detected by cambridge astronomer, Jocelyn Bell Burnell, in 1967.
✨At first, astronomer thought the regular pulses might be signal from aliens, and pulsars were jokingly called LGMs(Little Green Men).
✨Most pulsars send their radio pulse about once a second. The slowest pulse only every eight seconds, and the fastest every 1.4 milliseconds.
✨As it gets older, the pulse rate of a pulsar slow down.
The Crab pulsar slow by a millionth of a second a day.
✨More than 1500 pulsars are now known, but there may be 100,000 active in the Milky Way.
✨Pulsars probably result from a supernova explosion that is why most are found in flat disc of the Milky Way, where supernovae occur.
✨Crab Nebula is the reminants of a stellar explosion.
