The court established that a portion of the resort's buildings and villas illegally encroach upon more than 13 rai of land within the boundaries of the Sirinat National Park. On July 9, customs officials and police arrested a Thai florist and a Philippine national after attempting to smuggle more than 32 kilograms of flowers through Phuket International Airport.
First Arrest:
Around 11:00 AM, officers inspected a black suitcase belonging to 18-year-old Philippine florist Levannah Chelsea Guzman and discovered 14 vacuum-sealed packages of flowers with a combined weight of 14.5 kilograms.
Second Arrest:
Around 1:00 PM, officers inspected a green suitcase belonging to Thai florist Penpitcha Phutsiang and discovered 16 vacuum-sealed packages of flowers weighing 17.6 kilograms.
Charges:
Both florists admitted ownership of the suitcases and their contents. They were transported to Sakhu Police Station for investigation.
