In a lengthy narration in which the Prophet ﷺ addressed the people, he said: ‎يا أمة محمد لو تعلمون ما أعلم لضحكتم قليلا ولبكيتم كثيرا “O Ummah of Muhammad, if you knew what I know, you would laugh very little and weep much.” (an-Nasa’i, 1500)

Al-Hasan Al-Basree said: “To endure short-lived.difficulties that are followed by long lasting ease, is better than hurrying for a short-lived ease that is followed by ever-lasting hardship.” [Al-Hilyah, 2/134] Side Note :Don't go after short temporary pleasure or don't let any overwhelming situation make u commit sin.. indeed for a short time pleasure don't earn everlasting hardship (consequence of sin) Post frm( @unitefordeen)

Ibn al-Qayyim (rahimahullah), The key to the life of a (sound) heart lies in reflecting upon the Quran, earnestly imploring Allāh (seeking forgiveness) during the last hours of the night (i.e., before dawn), and abandoning sins. The key to provisions is striving to seek forgiveness (from Allāh) and piety. [Hādi al-Arwāh, pg. 139, Ibn al-Qayyim (rahimahullah)]

The Prophet [ﷺ] said: ❝The angel on the left raises his pen from [writing] the sin of a Muslim for 6 hours. If he regrets it and seeks Allah’s forgiveness, the angel will throw it aside. Otherwise he will record it as one sin.❞ [Al-Albani In Sahih Al-Jami, (No. 2097) @ThinkingsOfIslam

Islām is a favour upon you! Allāh says in the Qur'ān: «يمنون عليك أن أسلموا قل لا تمنوا علي إسلامكم بل الله يمن عليكم أن هداكم للإيمان إن كنتم صادقين» “They regard as favour upon you (O Muḥammad ﷺ) that they have embraced Islām. Say: 'Count not your Islām as a favour upon me. Nay, but Allāh has conferred a favour upon you, that He has guided you to the Faith, if you indeed are true.'" [Al-Ḥujarāt, 49:17] —— Ibn Kathīr رحمه الله comments: «فإن نفع ذلك إنما يعود عليكم، ولله المنة عليكم فيه» "For indeed, the benefit of that (i.e. you accepting Islām) is for you (not the Prophet ﷺ), and it is a favour from Allāh upon you." [تفسير ابن كثير • سورة الحجرات آية ١٧] —— And ʿUmar رضي الله عنه said: «إنا كنا أذل قوم فأعزنا الله بالإسلام فمهما نطلب العزة بغير ما أعزنا الله به أذلنا الله» “Verily, we were a disgraceful people and Allāh honoured us with Islām. If we seek honour from anything besides that with which Allāh honoured us, Allah will disgrace us.” [المستدرك على الصحيحين • ٢٠٧]
