2024 was full of challenges, and changes. It taught us that not every ending is a loss. Sometimes it's the way of the universe to make space for something bigger and better. 2024 gave us the hard times we didn't want to face and the losses we didn't expect. Despite this, it gave us the hope that something better awaits us and that not all losses are to be feared. Some are to be embraced with open arms. Happy New Year guys. You people have been amazing. 🤩 ~Prashant

In regards to MAINS 2024, as i had promised you all to help you out as much as i can (which i am already doing individually and through group) I am happy to announce that Navya Gupta an esteemed and well known previous faculty cum mentor for Forum IAS has accepted to do a read along (on zoom etc) of 5 students essay, Individually (1 essay each) and give them her valuable feedback as to how to increase marks. Let us all be thankful to her as she is doing this for us free of cost (Despite having produced rankers before) Let us hope, with her help we can create more rankers from this group. And maybe even increase our collaboration in future to include more students. Students selected under this was based on previous poll where i had asked u to msg me if you are giving mains and was based on first come first serve basis. Various time slots will be alloted to you soon. If there is anyone who is giving mains from this group and hasn't contacted me, may consider a DM to me (with your basic details like optional, Attempt at mains and previous marks). WIll try to help in whichever way possible (with no promises). Note: Please know that i am still a student and not associated with any coaching, and Navya mam has also agreed to help us in her Individual capacity. Big cheers to her Keep following UPSC and beyond: https://t.me/upscandbeyondd

What's the Update #1? Every week, there will be a post where Shubham Sir and I will be writing down our thoughts we feel you might want to read. Diwali is the festival all of us look forward to. No other festival is as dear to us as Diwali is. Why would it not be? The atmosphere is bright and cheerful all around us. Many of us who live away return to our homes. We may not get the opportunity to visit home in other festivals, but there is something special about Diwali that pulls us no matter how busy we are. For us aspirants, it is significant because we get to be away from the never-ending stressful environment we study in. The constant pressure to do something productive and not wanting to sit free fades away for some time. We want to sit down with our family to have some lighthearted conversation. It’s a treat to eat homemade food, which we don’t get often now. Suddenly, every small thing that we took for granted when we were kids seems worthwhile. Ghar ka khana, family ke sath time aur baaki sab kuch. Ever since my school got over, I have met my school friends only once a year on Diwali. I eagerly await these days. But deep down, we don’t feel the real happiness anymore. We conditioned ourselves to believe that UPSC requires sacrifice, and the first thing we sacrifice is our joy. I have learned it very late, but let me tell you now. Whatever phase you are in, you should learn to embrace the uncertainty. At no point in life, you will feel secure and stable. When you get a job, you will worry about other bigger things. But remember that life is fleeting. You will not be younger forever. You will not get time with your parents anymore. Value these moments. At the same time, work hard as much as you can. Do not give up till the last moment. Study 10 hours, 12 hours, or 14 hours. Do whatever it takes. There’s no substitute for hard work. You cannot merely wish things to fall into place. But at the end of the day, when you get up from your desk, don’t carry the weight of UPSC with you. Be free. On this festive occasion, it’s very obvious you will not be studying with full vigor, and it’s unfair to expect you to do so. This week you are allowed to be lenient with your studies. The grind starts again next week. ~ Prashant Gupta 👉 Share this with someone who needs to hear this.

🚨 DAY 23: 30 DAYS ETHICS ENRICHMENT SERIES 📚 Topic: Antecedent Conscience 📖 Meaning: Antecedent Conscience refers to a type of moral conscience that operates before an individual takes an action. It is the moral awareness and reflection that guides a person to make ethical decisions before the actual act is carried out. This type of conscience acts as a preventive mechanism, helping individuals avoid making unethical or immoral choices by prompting them to reflect beforehand. Antecedent Conscience vs. Consequent Conscience Antecedent Conscience: Involves moral judgment before the act, where a person is aware of the ethical implications of their actions and makes a decision accordingly. Consequent Conscience: Refers to the reflection on the morality of an action after it has been carried out. It involves remorse or self-assessment post-action. ✏️ Example: A civil servant may be asked to approve a project that seems dubious. Antecedent conscience will lead them to reflect on whether approving the project is ethically correct before taking any action, thereby preventing the approval of a possibly unethical decision. 💬 Key Quote: "To go against conscience is neither right nor safe." - Martin Luther 👉 Application: 1️⃣ What do you understand by the term ‘voice of conscience’? How do you prepare yourself to heed to the voice of conscience? (2013) 2️⃣ This concept is extremely useful in Case Studies. While justifying your action: In the given circumstances, I will follow Antecedent Conscience to arrive at an ethical decision. Hit ❤️ if you found this useful. 📎 Stay Updated : @upscandbeyondd

Old post Alert: Posted exactly one year ago! 10/10/2024 “So👆👆 this is me coming to Delhi and after 10 years leaving delhi! Let me tell you the changes I saw in myself in this spectrum of time which slipped by like trying to hold water in hands! My current state is well put by lines of poem "Invictus" by William Ernest Henley. "In the fell clutch of circumstance I have not winced nor cried aloud. Under the bludgeonings of chance My head is bloody, but unbowed." The person in the left and right is me biologically, but not really me when i compare. The one in left seems timid due to the photo and nervousness of travelling to a new city all alone. But was always high on confidence, He had golden touch with life, multiple sports state level, debating, writing, topped my district in 10th and 12th. If you asked me then delhi main kya karogay i would say dekhna 10-15 saal main I will own Delhi too (ofcourse jokingly li) The person in the right, seems smiling, confident and happy, but he is a 28 year old adult who has learnt to lie, hide, suppress and numb. He puts on smiles in public, even when he is crying inside. He puts on motivating messages even when he constantly feels negative. The person in the left was inexperienced, trusted easily and hence was cheated money wise, friendship wise, not knowing this is wounding him. But person in the right has taken a beating down in world, seen so many failures in relationships, UPSC, lost friendships. He knows there are practical aspects to life, he still dreams really big but with slight cautions and like always terms and conditions attached. So while wanting to to get selected in civil services was a major goal in delhi, which i obviously could not do, and even after months it still feels like knife in heart. But there are many small successes which I can't put here but one of the aspects would be i did manage to built this community in 2-3 months which has around 25k (currently 30k plus) people in my channel and you all have been wonderful. So here it is goodbye to Delhi, some stories do not have a happy ending but they are still special.” - Posted exactly a year ago! Feels like just yesterday!
