The Help Of Allaah Will Come Shaykhul-Islaam Ibn Taymiyyah, may Allaah have mercy upon him: "It is upon a person to know that the help (of Allaah) will arrive (when you have) patience, happiness will arrive after sorrow, and after every hardship there will be ease. The Adhān of 'Uthmān is not applicable in our times: Sheikh Albāni raḥimahullāh said: “We do not see following what Uthmān radhiyallāhu anhu did at all - without any restriction. Because we know from what has preceded that he only added the first Adhān because of a rational reason; which was due to the increased numbers and due to the settlements becoming distant from the Prophet's masjid. So whoever overlooks this reason and sticks to 'Uthmān’s Adhān unrestrictedly, he has not imitated him, radhiyallāhu anhu. He is in fact opposing 'Uthmān...So, following him, radhiyallāhu anhu, is only true when the reason for which 'Uthmān introduced the first Adhān is achieved, which was due to “the large number of people and their homes becoming distant from the masjid,” as previously stated. الأجوبة النافعة عن أسئلة لجنة مسجد الجامعة " ( ص 20 )

💯 Miscellaneous benefits from Yemen BENEFIT 41: WHICH PRAYER HAS 2 ADHĀNS? The only prayer with 2 Adhāns is Ṣalātul Fajr❗️ Ibn 'Umar radhiyallāhu 'anhu reported that the Messenger of Allāh (ﷺ) had two Mu'adhdhins: Bilāl and Ibn Umm Maktūm (May Allāh be pleased with them both). He said, The Messenger of Allāh (ﷺ) said: ((إِنَّ بِلاَلاً يُؤَذِّنُ بِلَيْلٍ فَكُلُوا وَاشْرَبُوا حَتَّى يُؤَذِّنَ ابْنُ أُمِّ مَكْتُومٍ)) "Bilāl calls the Adhān during the night, so eat and drink until Ibn Umm Maktūm pronounces Adhān." [Transmitted by Bukhāri and Muslim]. What's the wisdom behind these 2 Adhāns? 'Abdullāh ibn Mas'ūd narrated that the Prophet (ﷺ) said: ((لَا يَمْنَعَنَّ أَحَدَكُمْ ـ أَوْ أَحَدًا مِنْكُمْ ـ أَذَانُ بِلاَلٍ مِنْ سَحُورِهِ، فَإِنَّهُ يُؤَذِّنُ ـ أَوْ يُنَادِي ـ بِلَيْلٍ، لِيَرْجِعَ قَائِمَكُمْ وَلِيُنَبِّهَ نَائِمَكُمْ، وَلَيْسَ أَنْ يَقُولَ الْفَجْرُ أَوِ الصُّبْحُ)) "The Adhān pronounced by Bilāl should not stop you from eating Suḥūr (pre-dawn meal), for he pronounces the Adhān at night, so that the one offering the late night prayer (Tahajjud) from among you might hurry up and the sleeping from among you might wake up. It does not mean that dawn or morning has started." [Transmitted by Bukhāri & Muslim] As for Salatul Jumu'ah, then it only has one Adhān, because -what's more correct is that- the 1st Adhān of Jumu'ah is an innovation❗️ Narrated As-Saa'ib ibn Yazeed: "كَانَ النِّدَاءُ يَوْمَ الْجُمُعَةِ أَوَّلُهُ إِذَا جَلَسَ الْإِمَامُ عَلَى الْمِنْبَرِ عَلَى عَهْدِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَأَبِي بَكْرٍ وَعُمَرَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا ، فَلَمَّا كَانَ عُثْمَانُ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ وَكَثُرَ النَّاسُ زَادَ النِّدَاءَ الثَّالِثَ عَلَى الزَّوْرَاءِ". During the lifetime of the Prophet ﷺ, Abū Bakr and 'Umar, the Adhān for the Jumu'ah prayer used to be announced when the Imām sat on the pulpit. But during the Caliphate of 'Uthman when the Muslims increased in number, a third Adhān at Az-Zaura' was added. Abū 'Abdullah said, "Az-Zaura' is a place in the market of Medina." [Bukhari (912)] *NOTE: 'Three Adhans', because the first Adhān refers to the Adhān added by 'Uthmān radhiyallāhu 'anhu, the second is the call to the prayer; which is when the khaṭīb ascends the pulpit, and the third refers to the Iqāmah; as the Iqāmah is sometimes referred to as Adhān. In his book, “Al-Umm” (1/172 - 173), Imām Ash-Shāfi'ī wrote: (وأحب أن يكون الأذان يوم الجمعة حين يدخل الإمام المسجد ويجلس على المنبر فإذا فعل أخذ المؤذن في الأذان فإذا فرغ قام فخطب لا يزيد عليه). “I like that the Adhān on Jumu'ah is announced when the imam enters the masjid and sits on the pulpit. Once he does so, the mu'adhin calls the Adhān. When he finishes, the khateeb stands up and delivers his khutba. Nothing more.” He then quoted the aforementioned ḥadith of As-Saa’ib. Who said that this additional Adhān is an innovation? Wakī' raḥimahullāh related in his book, as mentioned by Ibn Rajab in Al-Fat-ḥ [(5/452) ibn Jawzi print], from Hishām Ibnul Ghāz, who said: 'I asked Naafi' concerning the first Adhān of Jumu'ah, so he said: ibn 'Umar said: ((بدعة، وكل بدعة ضلالة، وإن رآه الناس حسنا)). “(It is) an innovation, and every innovation is a misguidance, even if the people see it to be good.” Sheikh Yūsuf Al-Jazā'iri said: “This chain is 'Ṣaḥīḥ'. The men in the chain are all Thiqah (reliable)...' This Athar of Ibn 'Umar was also authenticated by: - Sheikh Muqbil raḥimahullāh - Sheikh Albani raḥimahullāh - Sheikh Muhammad Ali Al-Ithyobi raḥimahullāh - Sheikh Abdulmuhsin Al-Abbad ḥafidhahullāh - Sheikh Yahya Al-Hajuri ḥafidhahullāh (See: Bayanul Ghalaṭ by Sheikh Yūsuf Al-Jazā'iri) Did 'Ali radhiyallāhu anhu (the Khalifah after 'Uthman) continue with this additional Adhan during his Caliphate? In his tafsīr, Al-Qurtubi mentioned that during Ali's Khilāfah: (كان يُؤذن له أذانا واحدا بالكوفة). “Only one Adhān would be announced in Kūfa.” *NOTE: Kūfa was the centre of Khilafah at the time.

💯 Miscellaneous benefits from Yemen BENEFIT 40: A WEEKLY MISTAKE THAT TAKES PLACE IN MY LOCAL ḤANAFI/TABLĪGHI MASJID Sheikh 'Uthaymīn raḥimahullāh was asked the following question: DOES JUMU'AH PRAYER HAVE ANY VOLUNTARY PRAYERS OFFERED PRIOR TO IT❓ Sheikh Ibn Uthaymeen, may Allāh have mercy on him, said: “Friday prayer does not have a Sunnah before it, thus what some people do in terms of offering prayer after the first Adhān is called, this has no basis for it. Because the Prophet ﷺ used to pray two units of prayer in his house AFTER the Friday prayer, or four; the four units are proven from the words of the Messenger ﷺ (a) and the two units are proven from his action (b). [Nūr Alā Ad-Darb - Tape No. (224)] _________________ (a) Ibn 'Umar radhiyallāhu 'anhu said: (كَانَ لاَ يُصَلِّى بَعْدَ الْجُمُعَةِ حَتَّى يَنْصَرِفَ، فَيُصَلِّى رَكْعَتَيْنِ) “He wouldn't pray after Jumu'ah until he departed (from the masjid), then he would offer 2 units (at home).” [Reported by Bukhāri (937) & Muslim (882)] (b) on the authority of Abū Hurairah, that the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ said: (إِذَا صَلَّى أَحَدُكُمْ الْجُمُعَةَ فَلْيُصَلِّ بَعْدَهَا أَرْبَعًا) “If one of you prays Jumu'ah, then let him pray 4 (units) after it.” [Reported by Muslim (881)] ------------- The above 2 evidences seem contradictory; the first hadith says he ﷺ would pray 2 after Jumu'ah, and in the second, he ﷺ instructs us to pray 4, so how do we combine between the 2 evidences❓ Imām Aḥmad said, both are optional: (إن شاء صلى بعد الجمعة ركعتين، وإن شاء صلى أربعا) “If he wishes, he can pray 2, and if he wishes he can pray 4.” [Al-Mughni (2/109)] But if a person prays in the masjid, it's better to pray 4 units, and if he prays at home, he should pray 2 units; as Ibnul Qayyim relayed from Sheikhul Islām raḥimahullāh in Zaadul Ma'aad (1/417). He then added: (وعلى هذا تدل الأحاديث ، وقد ذكر أبو داود عن ابن عمر أنه كان إذا صلى في المسجد صلى أربعا ، وإذا صلى في بيته صلى ركعتين). “This is what the evidences indicate. In fact, Abu Dawud relayed from Ibn Umar that he used to pray 4 units - if he prayed in the masjid, and if he prayed at home, he would pray 2 units.”

💯 Miscellaneous benefits from Yemen BENEFIT 38: THE TOTAL NUMBER OF PROPHETS & MESSENGERS In total, there were 114,000 Prophets; 315 of whom were Messengers. How do we know that❓ Proof 1: Abū Umāmah radhiyallāhu 'anhu asked the Prophet ﷺ, how many Prophets are there? He ﷺ said: ((مائة ألف وأربعة عشر ألف)) “One hundred and fourteen thousand.” [this ḥadīth is 'Ḥasan lighayrihi'; see 'Aṣ-Ṣaḥīḥah' (6/363)] Proof 2: Narrated Abū Umāmah radhiyallāhu 'anhu: ((كان آدم نبيا مكلما، كان بينه وبين نوح عشرة قرون، وكانت الرسل ثلاثمائة وخمسة عشر)) “Ādam was a Prophet who was spoken to (directly), the time gap between him and Nūḥ was 10 centuries, and the Messengers numbered three hundred and fifteen.” Sheikh Kamāl Al-'Adenī raḥimahullāh said: its chain of narration is 'Ṣaḥīḥ'.
