Manhaj, Adab & anti Syubhat

With many classes restarting physically in the post-Covid lockdown era, here is a very important reminder: Imam Abu Zurʾah رحمه الله said, "I heard Imam Ahmad ibn Hanbal and Yahya ibn Maʻeen رحمهما الله say, 'Whoever does not write down knowledge is not safe from making mistakes.'” Our Sheikh Ibrahim Nuhu حفظه الله advised, "Gaining knowledge is like hunting game. You can't catch one animal, tell it to wait there and then go find the next animal and ask it to wait there also. You need to tie it up securely as and when you find them. If you don't tie them, then naturally they will run away and escape from you. Similarly, knowledge is tied down by writing. When you enter a class, pay attention and divorce everyone. Write everything down. It is better to stop the teacher and clarify your doubt rather than ask a friend beside you. You end up disturbing the class and more often than not, even that person might have a deficient understanding of what the teacher said." If you don't write and take notes, and think you have Imam Bukhari's memory, take heed of this saying of the scholars: ضِعْ وَرَقَةً وَلَا تَضِيعَنَّ شَيْخًا “Waste a sheet of paper. Shaykh Muḥammad Ibn Ṣāliḥ al-‘Uthaymīn رحمه الله stated, “Some students of knowledge today are rougher than the Bedouin, they don’t have amiable dispositions, or give the Salām nor (do they possess) humility. Furthermore, there are some people who as they increase in knowledge, they increase in arrogance, and we seek refuge in Allāh from this.
