⛱️ ﷽ ⛱️ ✨ _*Wisdom in the Face of Hardship*_ ✨ The main source a Muslim can utilize to increase his level of wisdom is the Quran. Allah says: *He gives wisdom to whom He wills, and whoever has been given wisdom has certainly been given much good. And none will remember except those of understanding. (Quran 2:269)* Wisdom is a gift from Allah, and you already have that gift within your reach – the Quran. Ibn Abbas defines hikmah simply as knowledge of the Quran. (Ibn Kathir) The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) made a special dua for relief from sadness and anxiety, at the end of which he said: … You make the Quran the life of my heart and the light of my breast, and a departure for my sorrow and a release for my anxiety. (Hisnulmuslim) The Quran has the ability to turn your winter of hardship into a spring of bliss. If you can hold on to it, you will find contentment in your heart despite failing in the exam, or despite going through a painful divorce. You will find the patience and courage to deal with hardship. ⛱️ ﷽ ⛱️ ✨ The Call to Defeatism ✨ Continued...✍🏻 In his comment on the above verse, Imam Al-Qurtubi reports that `Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) said, *“This verse is the most hope-inspiring one in the Quran; if my sins are to be expiated through afflictions and calamities, and above that, Allah will forgive many other sins, then what will remain after such expiation and forgiveness?”* True, life’s disasters leave hearts broken and loved ones deprived, but the bright believer knows how turn them into a source of determination and a fountain of strength. I conclude with the beautiful authentic hadith in which the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) tells us that the people who face the harshest trial (bla’) are the prophets, then those next to them (in faith and devotion), and then the next. Everyone will be tried according to his level of faith; one who has strong faith will undergo a harsh trial and one who is of weak faith will receive a weak trial. And the affliction will encompass one until he becomes free of sins altogether. السلام عليكم و رحمة الله و بركاته 🌺 Loving Allah 💓 🌼 ‼️Do We Truly Love Allah⁉️ 💘 ⚜️How do we know if we truly love Allah? Are our claims of loving him genuine? Allah says,“Say: If you (sincerely) love Allah, then follow me; Allah will love you and forgive your sins.For Allah is All-Forgiving, Most Merciful” (3:31). 🌼 Thus, the litmus test of loving Allah is whether one follows and obeys the Messenger ﷺ. 🌼 ⚜️ Ibn Rajab (raḥimahullāh) writes, “Whosoever loves Allah and His Messenger sincerely from his heart, it will necessitate that he loves in his heart what Allah and His Messenger love; hate what they hate; be pleased with what pleases them; and be displeased with what displeases them; and his limbs and body will then conform to whatever this loving and hating necessitate.” ⚜️ Abū Yaʿqūb al-Nahrujūrī said, “Whosoever claims to love Allah, – Mighty and Majestic is He – but doesn’t comply with Allah in His commands, his claim is false. For every lover that does not fear Allah, is deluded.” 🔖Attaining the love of Allah is a journey. It may be that at the beginning, one is unable to fully love what Allah loves as his heart is imprisoned by his desires. However, as one’s love for Allah increases through worship, one liberates himself from his own desires. The love of anyone other than Allah slowly fizzles away, and Allah’s preferences become his own preferences.

“Whoever would love to know whether Allah loves him, he should examine his relationship with the Qur’ān: If he loves the Qur’ān, then he loves Allah, as the Qur’ān is the Word of Allah.” – ʿAbdullāh b. Masʿūd (raḍiy Allāhu ʿanhu)
