One thing many younger people don’t understand about the dating landscape is that men and women have really never met and formed relationships from cold approaches. It is a fantasy of both sides that the way men used to meet women is to walk up to some total stranger in a public place and start up a conversation about random bullshit. The way couples used to form is you’d already know someone in your family or social group, and much later in history via the workplace, and you’d be around that person all the time and people would naturally gravitate towards those whom they were mutually attracted to. This modern digital world has so thoroughly fucked up normal human relations that people have almost no opportunity to do this anymore, and work has become an absolute minefield for men only. Things used to be far more equal. Guys and girls who were suited for each other had very little trouble finding one another, marrying and having a family together. Now, because of the destruction of common spaces due to “diversity” and dystopic digitization of every aspect of life, as well as the tandem ability and society-wide encouragement of women to hook up with scores of random men, many far above their natural station, a huge majority of women have been socially engineered to believe they deserve nothing less than a man they never could have dreamed of securing in a natural world, and a huge majority of men have been denigrated, scorned or ignored and pushed completely out of the dating market when they should by rights have the wife and family they desire. The whole thing is fucking terrible and it breaks my heart.

I could watch videos of journalists getting beanbagged all day for 8 hours and would consider it a day well spent.

It’s a good production, I must admit, starring Saoirse Ronan (however the hell you spell or say her weird ass name), but I thought it was a missed opportunity. They should have had her holding a butcher knife covered in blood staring at the camera with sanpaku eyes in the final shot. Is it FAIR that non-traditional women want traditional men? Women demand all the privileges and benefits of liberalized society (along with a rejection of traditional social/cultural values) while still demanding that men take on all the burdens of traditional society. Many women have completely FORSAKEN, abandoned, and cast aside any and all of their traditional gender roles -- yet with the utmost entitlement STILL expect men to adhere to our traditional gender roles. On one hand you want to push your liberal feminist progressive equality values as far as humanly possibly. On the other hand when it comes to your gendered expectations of men, you may as well be 1950s bachelorettes. You want men to be chivalrous, and providers, and protectors, and leaders, take all the initiative, pay for dates, open the car door, observe the "sidewalk rule", get you flowers, and get down on one knee like a b, spend 5 figures on a ring, and propose to you. Hot take: We have a God-given right to BE ABLE TO discriminate against whomever we choose, and that would be the much better outcome. But for the period of time we're stuck with the ridiculous Civil Rights Act I will consider this a win.
