The Fate of Harmondsworth Village (The proposed runway of Heathrow Airport)
In this special episode, we visit the historic village of Harmondsworth, which faces partial demolition, severe noise risks, and community displacement under the proposed third runway expansion of Heathrow Airport. It's not only its pubs that will suffer or disappear, but everything that makes it so magnificent.
Whilst in this quaint village, we speak to Ivor (the organist of St Mary's), Alan, and Justine (volunteer's at the nearby Medieval barn) to hear the inside story behind what's taken place. The pubs, homes, and various other features will either disappear or die a slow death from being left without a community.
Harmondsworth is a wonderful village with an extensive history dating from Anglo-Saxon England, through the Norman era, and every epoch since. We hear of how damaging and plans were (and have continued to be) and the effect it's had on those who live there.
The proposed plans by Heathrow and the potential fate of Harmondsworth and its surrounding areas set a very dark precedent indeed. The plans for this village mean listed buildings that are centuries would be demolished without a second thought. A millennia of social history would or will be wiped out.
It's important that those who care for the sanctity or Britain and it's past watch this video and share it with others. This video will end all doubts as to how much danger Britain's history and beauty face in modern times.

Those attending this week's walking tour, I suggest getting the train from Waterloo which takes far less time than the district line (which may have engineering works).
Waterloo Underground Station is served directly by four London Underground lines: the Bakerloo, Jubilee, Northern (Charing Cross branch), and Waterloo & City lines
Trains from London Waterloo to Richmond run direct about every 10 to 15 minutes on Saturdays, operated by South Western Railway.
See you all soon. 🤝

The public houses we still walk past today played their parts in everything from law to war. Join us for a walk and a few refreshments as we delve into the living museums of #Britain.
