Jal Sanjhi – the water canvas ⭕️The city of Udaipur is known for its lakes and natural landscape. It is also known for its art form ‘Sanjhi’ ⭕️The art form pays homage to Lord Krishna. It is believed that the inspiration behind these paintings come from the time when Radha saw the image of Krishna in the water in a pond and His image was outlined with flowers. ⭕️ With time, this evolved and Sanjhi became a form of pictorial depiction of the Lord on water. ⭕️The art form is considered to be over 300-year-old and is practiced for generations by artists. The painting can take over hours to come to form. ⭕️ Some of the famous ones are naag leena among other Lord Krishna leela or stories. The entire painting floats on water.

👆The G20 India delegates witnessed the diversity of India. 🍁At the G20 Meeting in Udaipur, the delegates were awed by centuries old art form of India, called Jal Sanjhi. ✅️Jal Sanjhi is a temple art form of Rajasthan in which the painter uses water as a canvas for paintings to honour Lord Krishna.
