01 ⚠️SUMMARY OF FED FOMC STATEMENT:
1. The Fed kept rates unchanged at 5.50%. This is the sixth meeting in a row that the Fed has left rates unchanged.
2. The Fed’s statement signaled that rates could likely remain higher for longer than previously expected amid a lack of progress on slowing inflation.
3. In recent months, there "has been a lack of further progress toward the Committee's 2 percent inflation objective," the Fed said in the statement.
4. Policymakers stressed that they don’t see rate cuts happening until they are more confident inflation is nearing 2%.
