The Postgres 19 release will have half as many features. And this is a common trend - with AI review a lot of bugs are found upfront and it takes a huge effort to fix them. Ordinarily this would happen later already after the release. But now with AI assisted fuzzing and adversarial review it happens at merge time. I also do notice this trend in my work on Greenplum.

| 2 | Well it took a while for me to return to this blog. But I do return with some good news.
While starting as quite sceptical of AIs, now I am fascinated with the number of tools I can vibe code in a night/week/etc. And those are quite specific tools that I've been missing in my flow for some time.
The first one that I decided to give a go is slidez. A CLI tool to generate pdf slide decks from a simple human readable language. No browser, node, or anything like that needed. Plain python under 1k lines of code.
Most of you who know me personally, know that I do give talks from time to time and it was always a pain for me to use Google Slides, I tried some JS tools like reveal.js or their hackmd hosted service, but ultimately using a browser and HTML to build a simple slide deck doesn't sit well with me.
So here it is a simple CLI for slides. Hope some of you will find it useful! | 239 |

| 11 | Hey! Happy New Year everybody! I wish you to have lots of inspiration and energy for everything you do next year! | 592 |
Приходите 1 декабря на RustCon 2023, чтобы услышать его доклад «Case study: Rust Async on Top of Fibers
(Bringing 2 concurrency patterns together)».

| 16 | As far as I remember you could previously install the rust compiler package via apt but obviously it was a fixed version and it caused some pain. Now it's much better | 566 |

| 19 | Why Static Typing Came Back
TL;DR
- Static Typing was a pain to use in 1990s and you still got type errors at runtime
- At that time the Web came to the scene and with it the need to ship and iterate faster
- The Internet speed was a lot slower back then, and so the obvious lack of runtime speed of dynamic languages didn't matter
- But everything changed in 2010s. The compilers and type checkers became a lot faster and friendlier. The statically typed languages became less verbose and "ceremonial".
- And now we are in an age of statically typed languages with even more of them in active development. | 562 |
