👆🏻 Ain’t that the truth?! (Except it's more like, "Tell me what you just told the nurse 25 minutes ago.") I had to go to a walk-in clinic last weekend. Well, the walk-in part is null and void these days. I was compelled to give up top secret information to the nurse over the phone including my weight, height and age. Then I was told I could come on inside. The nurse immediately escorted me to the scale. Really?! It’s not like I gave them a liberal’s IQ score for my weight. It was more like social security number digits. When she was done I asked if she needed to measure my height and carbon date me. Nah, that verification process wasn’t necessary. So the moral of the story is eat more cookies.

God Turn It Around - Jon Reddick

I was having a particularly hard moment, feeling absolutely crushed over the evil-doers when I came across this song. I made time to be alone just so I could immerse myself into the message of it, and to feel God’s presence wrap me in comfort. I think this song played a role in changing my outlook from one of anxiety to one of belief and peace. Maybe sometimes we need to switch from asking for God’s intervention to thanking Him for intervening. When you understand that the battle has already been won, and you stand on the right side, waiting to claim the victory, your entire outlook changes. So in way, it’s not just, “God, turn it around;” it’s “Thank you, God, for turning it around.” May it encourage you as well.
