You realize everyone wants you for their best friend – right? We can endeavor to BE a best friend. I know you're not fishing for compliments and it's the very reason I send one. 💜

Anyone else note one of the benefits of covid is empty or near empty waiting rooms at the doctor’s office? We have. Visits are much quicker these days. Don’t know the results of the ECG yet. Felix continues to make improvements. However, he does struggle with balance, muscle weakness and pain, and neuropathy. He still has interrupted sleep, a bit of a foot drop and he cannot raise his right hand (like flip it up). Little by little I’m confident we’ll get there. I wish I could thank each one of you in person for all you’ve done to lift us up. Your steadfastness in praying for us is simply priceless. Thank you. And thank you to Alice for such an unbelievably, flattering, kind comment. NATURE • Endangered adult winter-run Chinook salmon have been introduced to Northern California mountain streams not inhabited for over 100 years MEDICAL ADVANCES • A small implant is providing huge relief to younger patients living with Parkinson’s disease, such that it could allow sufferers to pick up fine motor skills again. COVID • ABC News is reporting that in August of 2021, about 18.9% of covid-19 deaths occurred among the vaccinated; 6 months later deaths had increased to more than 40%. Experts said the increase in breakthrough deaths is expected with more Americans reaching full vaccination status [Horrible. ELECTIONS • MO Senate passes election integrity HB1878, which requires photo ID to vote and bans drop boxes, ballot harvesting, and "Zuckerbucks" • In a press release the Yuma County Sheriff’s Office announced they are working with the Yuma County Recorder’s Office to examine cases of voting fraud from the 2020 General Election and now a recent pattern of fraudulent voter registration forms leading up to the 2022 Primary Election • Buchanan County VA Supervisor Trey Adkins has been indicted on 82 felony counts stemming from a election fraud and corruption scheme following a 2-year state police investigation, including 34 counts of false statements related to election fraud and 11 counts of absentee voting violations. According to the grand jury’s report, Adkins relied on an illegal absentee vote harvesting scheme since he was first elected to public office in 2011, repeating the process in his 2015 and 2019 bids for re-election • Mixed bag: A MO legal disciplinary panel concluded Soros backed St Louis Circuit Atty Kimberly Gardner violated multiple legal ethics rules in her failed pursuit of a criminal case against ex-MO Gov Eric Greitens in 2018 [The panel said a mitigating factor in not seeking a more serious penalty was that Gardner dropped the case before Greitens was convicted. It's also being reported that the NM found a feature within Dominion machines that would allow ballots to be filled out by the machine • The Foundation for Govt Accountability has sued the Justice Dept after it ignored its FOIA requests about an EO directing federal agencies to promote “access to voting” 1st AMENDMENT • The 5th US Circuit Court of Appeals has reinstated a TX law prohibiting social media companies from banning users for their political beliefs • Republican Reps Kevin McCarthy (CA) and Steve Scalise (LA) unveiled legislation to defund the Homeland Security Dept’s new Disinformation Governance Board and other entities like it 2nd AMENDMENT • Mixed bag: 9th US Circuit Court of Appeals ruled that California's ban on the sale of semiautomatic weapons to adults under 21 is unconstitutional [the court also ruled that a hunting license requirement for purchases of rifles or shotguns by adults under 21 who are not in the military or law enforcement was reasonable]

The fact that you care, the fact that you are curious, the fact that you want to get better at this says good things about your character. Stay curious, stay vigilant, stay hungry for God’s truth. You got this Precious Patriot!

Opinions do not necessarily reflect the true heart of the speaker. Commentators offer their opinions because they want to bring you to their side. Some are more subtle than others. Some have a nefarious purpose, some have an honorable purpose, but the end goal is the same: it’s to cause a change in your perspective. Is the person you’re looking into consistent with the values they tout? Do their ideas, beliefs and lifestyle conflict with God’s? With the constitution? With your own personal beliefs? Do they encourage beneficial discussions? Do their positions promote freedom of speech and association, private ownership and self-determination? Do they quickly shutdown contrary views? Do they do a 180 in their views without reasonable explanation? Are they really who they say they are? I cannot stress this enough: do their ideas, beliefs and lifestyle conflict with God’s and do they align themselves with those whose ideas, beliefs and lifestyles conflict with God’s? [This would include language, memes, humor, symbols, who they fraternize with, the organizations they promote.] Turn-off the fluff, the noise, the ear tickling. Learn to read between the lines. Understand body language, voice fluctuations. Pay attention when the elephant in the room is deliberately ignored. Is there something about an individual or an idea they are espousing sound off? Not quite right? Anti-God or anti-freedom? Maybe you can’t quite put your finger on it, but something…. Listen to your instincts! If you’re a person of faith, pray for guidance. We have to research. Everything. Everyone. And the only way we are going to be effective at doing this is by implementing Challenge #1. It has to be God-directed.

Same with real life. Same with people, events and ideas. On the one hand, keep an open mind; on the other hand, maintain a dubious inclination. Lean on your own instincts and trust your gut. Yes, sometimes we get it wrong. However, more often than not, our initial gut reaction (not our emotional reaction) is the correct one. For people of faith, we know what this is! Ask as many questions as it takes to satisfy your curiosity. Look for patterns, look for the common denominator across many spectrums, even look for the opposite of what you believe. The latter will either solidify your own beliefs or get you to consider another viewpoint. As you read news stories and commentaries, note if they are able to offer evidence –real tangible, traceable, knowable evidence for their statements. Or note if they ask pointed questions to get your own wheels turning.
