Different options for ECE graduate in VLSI and the basic requirement: VLSI is categorised into many different subfields but primarily into FrontEnd and Backend. In general, a VLSI Engineer primarily has the following roles depending on the sub domain the person choose to work with: ✓RTL Design Engineer (Mostly deals with the HDL coding and Designing of various modules, blocks using VHDL/Verilog/SV and to make sure the design is synthesizable along with the Microarchitecture specification understanding) ✓IP/SOC Design Engineer(The role is same as discussed above, only difference is with the blocks and Modules.In IP they have a complete understanding of a IP and all it features and in SOC it's like interconnection of many IP's.) ✓RTL Integration Engineer (They mostly deals with the integration of different blocks, interconnection of signals, porting of module) ✓ASIC/SOC/IP Verification Engineer (Mostly deals with the Verification of blocks by creating Testbench using SV/UVM, writing Testcases to validate the design and create Functional/Code Coverage reports to test how much Verification has been covered) ✓Physical Design Engineer (Mostly deals with the Back end related activity like floor planning, placement and routing to make a proper estimation of chip area and placement of blocks) ✓Synthesis and STA Engineer (This profile mostly deals to verify the timing analysis of the circuit and to make sure the design is timing error free and generation of netlist) ✓Analog Layout/Design Engineer (Here it mostly deals with the layout mostly with CMOS Circuits and to make sure all the rules like DRC, LVS are checked) ✓DFT Engineer (Scan Insertion,ATPG pattern, Stuck at fault0/1 testing, Fault Collapsing and generation, Memory Testing, Logic Cone problems, and functional flip flops are tested here) ✓Formal Verification Engineer(RTL to RTL Equivalence check, Assertion based Verification, Arithmetic and Algorithmic Verification, complete verification of all the state space, Model checking) ✓Memory Characterization Engineer ✓Physical Verification Engineer But for VLSI, following are the basic requirements: 1) Good understanding of Digital Design along with Advanced Digital Design including STA. 2) Coding knowledge on VHDL/Verilog. 3) Understanding of ASIC and FPGA flow. 4) CMOS, MOSFET understanding.

What's the difference between blockchain and Bitcoin? 👉 Blockchain is the technology that underpins the cryptocurrency Bitcoin, but Bitcoin is not the only version of a blockchain distributed ledger system in the market. 👉 There are several other cryptocurrencies with their own blockchain and distributed ledger architectures. 👉 Meanwhile, the decentralisation of the technology has also led to several schisms or forks within the Bitcoin network, creating offshoots of the ledger where some miners use a blockchain with one set of rules, and others use a blockchain with another set of rules. 👉 Alongside the original Bitcoin, Bitcoin Cash, Bitcoin Gold and Bitcoin SV exist as their own cryptocurrency. 👉 With smaller networks, these cryptocurrency blockchains are more vulnerable to hacking attacks, one of which befell Bitcoin Gold in 2018.

Why is there so much hype around blockchain technology? 👉 There have been many attempts to create digital money in the past, but they have always failed. 👉 The prevailing issue is trust. If someone creates a new currency called the X dollar, how can we trust that they won't give themselves a million X dollars, or steal your X dollars for themselves? 👉 Bitcoin was designed to solve this problem by using a specific type of database called a blockchain. 👉 Most normal databases, such as an SQL database, have someone in charge who can change the entries (e.g. giving themselves a million X dollars). Blockchain is different because nobody is in charge; it’s run by the people who use it. 👉 What’s more, bitcoins can’t be faked, hacked or double spent – so people that own this money can trust that it has some value.

Blockchain is a type of DLT in which transactions are recorded with an immutable cryptographic signature called a hash. 👉 This means if one block in one chain was changed, it would be immediately apparent it had been tampered with. 👉 If hackers wanted to corrupt a blockchain system, they would have to change every block in the chain, across all of the distributed versions of the chain. 👉 Blockchains such as Bitcoin and Ethereum are constantly and continually growing as blocks are being added to the chain, which significantly adds to the security of the ledger.
