The Indian equity benchmark erased some of the previous session gains and ended lower in a volatile session on January 30 4. Selling in heavyweights and capital goods, power and FMCG sectors 5. Finally, Nifty was down 215.50 points, or 0.99 percent, at 21,522.10 6. Sensex was down 801.67 points, or 1.11 percent, at 71,139.90 7. Among sectors, except realty and PSU bank, all indices ended in the red 8. Capital goods, FMCG, pharma and power down 0.5-1 percent 9. Midcap index shed 0.5 percent, while the smallcap index ended on a flat note 10. IMF raises India's FY25, FY26 GDP growth forecasts to 6.5% 11. L&T Q3 net profit rises 15% to Rs 2,947 crore 12. FIIs net sold shares worth Rs 1,970.52 crore 13. DIIs bought Rs 1,002.70 crore worth of stocks on January 30 14. US markets ended mixed on Jan 30 15. Indian equity indices erased previous session losses and started the (Budget) week on a solid note 4. Nifty and Sensex rising nearly 2 percent each on January 29 5. Nifty was up 385.00 points or 1.80 percent at 21,737.60 6. Sensex was up 1,240.90 points or 1.76 percent at 71,941.57 7. Reliance was gained more than 7% and contributed around 150 points to lift the index 8. The biggest gainers on the Nifty included ONGC, Reliance Industries, Adani Enterprises, Coal India 9. while losers included Cipla, ITC, LTIMindtree, Bajaj Auto and Infosys 10. Among sectors, oil & gas index is up 5%, Power index is up 3%, and Capital Goods index is up 2% 11. Midcap index rose 1.7 percent and Smallcap index added a percent 12. Reliance gains most since September 2020 to a #RecordHigh; Market Cap at ₹19.5 lakh crore 13. Rolls-Royce signs long-term contract of 7 years with Azad Engineering to produce and supply critical engine parts 14. ITC Q3 net profit rises 11% to Rs 5,572 crore 15. Bajaj Finance Q3 net profit rises 22% to Rs 3,639 crore 16. Vodafone Idea Q3 net loss narrows to Rs 6,986 crore, revenue flat 17. FIIs turned net buyers in the cash segment after selling in the previous seven days, buying shares worth Rs 110.01 crore 18. DIIs purchased Rs 3,221.34 crore worth of stocks on January 29 19. US markets ended higher on Jan 29 20. Dow gained 0.59%, Nasdaq added 1.12% and S&P500 rallied 0.75% 21. US 10-year yield sustains around 4.1% 22. US VIX rallied 2.55% to 13.6 23. Spot gold was up 0.4 percent at $2,025.97 an ounce 24. Brent crude futures fell $1.15, or 1.4 percent, to settle at $82.40 a barrel 25. US West Texas Intermediate crude futures dropped by $1.23, or 1.6 percent, at $76.78 per barrel 26. Asian markets were set to mixed opening on Jan 30 27. Nikkei up 0.25% and Hangseng down 2.3% 28.
