Art, Artist and Artistry in K Viswanath’s Cinema We begin a new series analysing the art and artistry of K. Viswanath's body of cinema in detail. Only Viswanath had the talent & creativity to naturally bring out snippets and episodes from the Ramayana, Mahabharata, Puranas, classical poetry and Telugu folklore in dialogue, ambience and lyric in his movies. Laali Laali, the famous lullaby in Swati Muthyam is a miniature of K. Viswanath’s creativity at its peak. The lullaby is meant for the infant; it is also meant for the infant’s father whose mental growth is that of a child. There will never be anyone like K. Viswanath again. Sri Ramachandra: The Sculptor of our National Character ---- One of the best expositions of Bhagvan Sri Rama! Here are some excerpts. Rāma’s victory over Rāvaṇa symbolizes the victory of dharma over ariṣaḍvarga, to achieve personal and collective welfare. This is the ideal of Rāmarājya. The traits of a human being, however lofty, serve as models to emulate. A living person can inspire another by the sheer force of his personal conduct. The energy of a talented, competent and dedicated individual can achieve what institutionalized efforts cannot. Maharshi Valmiki found his man in Rāma. The poet made this Rama’s life into a poem and immortalized it, for an epic never fossilizes. 🙏🛕🕉🪔 -- https://www.dharmadispatch.in/culture/sri-ramachandra-the-sculptor-of-our-national-character

Eksar Viragals: A Forgotten Heritage Swallowed by Urbanisation Eksar, now a sururb in Borivali West is the site of a glorious heritage left behind by Bhoja Raja, Goa Kadambas and Shilahara kings. Today, the only remnants of Eksar’s heritage is the collection of six Viragals — hero stones -- inside the compound of the posh Club Aquaria building, owned by the Wadhwa Group. Even by the start of the 20th century, Eksar had a large mango orchard overlooking a fine pond. These six Viragals were found on the bank of the pond -- all of which disappeared long ago. -- Please do read the full story. 😓🙏🛕🪔 https://www.dharmadispatch.in/history/eksar-viragals-a-forgotten-heritage-swallowed-by-urbanisation

In 1853, a gang of violent Wahabis in the Swat Valley & surrounding areas launched a war against infidel India then ruled by the British. Marxists as usual, have painted this as a "freedom struggle." --- Read the lurid details! https://www.dharmadispatch.in/history/the-wahabi-movement-was-not-a-struggle-for-independence-but-a-declaration-of-war-against-infidel-india

Narendra Modi @75: Transformation in the Present Continuous Ever since Narendra Modi made his bid for Prime Minister in 2013, his tenor and content of his promised transformation has been consistent in both promise and delivery. It was also an unabashed declaration of the end of the old ways — schismatic vote-hunting, secularism, corruption, cowardice, and communism. Modi’s new charter was premised on civilisational strength, which was left to lie dormant and allowed to decay for seven decades. Till date, the most vicious denouncers of Modi denounce him for precisely this reason: his candid projection of strength and his willingness to deploy it both at home and abroad. Few people realise the kind of global clout that India wields under Modi’s leadership thanks to the engineered chaos on social media and on the ground. India's reassertion of self-confidence is essentially rooted in its Hindu civilisational mettle, which Modi has harnessed with aplomb. Above all, Narendra Modi has been a catalyst for recovering our cultural heft and a unifier that an India, splintered under secularism, had been awaiting. --- Read the whole essay! 📑🕉🪔 https://www.dharmadispatch.in/commentary/narendra-modi-75-transformation-in-the-present-continuous

Ghar-Wapsi in an Era of Mounting Losses and Existential Crisis: The Conclusion The concluding episode of this series offers some suggestions regarding Ghar-Wapsi and some measures to counter the existential threat faced by the Hindu community. An excerpt is given below. --- The Hindu community has been the greatest victim of Indian democracy because the Indian Constitution has no solid philosophical and spiritual edifice. I dread to see a day when: 1. The Sringeri Matha is rechristened as OUR CHURCH OF THE HOLY ST. ADI SEBASTIAN - Adi Sankara 2. Srisailam as THE HOLY CHURCH OF ST. MICHAEL — Mallikarjuna Swamy 3. Tirumala as THE SACRED MOUNT OF ST. VALENTINE — Venkateshwara Swamy I hope I never live to see the day. --- Do read the whole essay! 😔🕉🛕🪔 https://www.dharmadispatch.in/commentary/ghar-wapsi-in-an-era-of-mounting-losses-and-existential-crisis-the-conclusion

Ghar-Wapsi Celebrated in Contemporary Indian Literature The titan of Kannada literature, Dr. S.L. Bhyrappa has beautifully infused Parāvartana in several of his acclaimed novels, chiefly in Dharmashri, Tabbaliyu Neenaade Magane, Saartha and Aavarana. In Saartha, a Hindu woman forcibly impregnated by Turushka savages marries Nagabhatta and both of them rear the child in her womb as a Hindu. This clearly agrees with Devala in letter, spirit and action. Today, we find it hard to understand the magnitude of the loss sufferred by the Hindu society when India was partitioned in 1947. This was an irrecoverable blow and loss which few people today can fathom. 😔🛕🕉🪔 https://www.dharmadispatch.in/commentary/ghar-wapsi-celebrated-in-contemporary-indian-literature
