So currently I’m sitting in a restaurant in Melbourne which has got “we are cashless baby” on a sign on the door. Couldn’t help myself. Have ordered $150 worth of food and cannot wait to pay shortly with my cash, I don’t even have a card on me. This will be interesting……watch this space 😏 Update: After a long conversation with a cashier and then manager they decided to call police do to me “refusing to pay” which was incorrect. Police arrived and after a civil conversation realised I was happy to pay just unable to pay by card. So it was deemed an issue of the business not being able to accommodate me and by law there was nothing they could do. I offered again to provide cash for payment which the manager stated he now would accept however had no change. Luckily for them I had correct weight. When I asked for a receipt they said they couldn’t provide one due to it not being paid through the system. I said i required one for business/tax purposes. They refused to provide one to which I told them wasn’t acceptable. I left the building and lit up a smoke. Police were out the front waiting for me to come out. Both police offices shook my hand and said I quote, “there’s needs to be more people like you in the world”. Morale of the story - don’t be a dodgy cunt. But always stand your ground. I paid for my meal and always intended too. Paying was never an issue. Not being able to pay by cash was my issue to which I succeeded to do and the choice they had was to accept my cash or let me eat for free. Hope everyone’s had a lovely Friday. Rock on guys 🤟 🚨🚨 I should also add that along with only “being cashless baby” they also charge a 5% fee for using card payments also. So for anyone that thinks I’m a twat - I spent $150 and paid $150. Not spent $150 and paid $157.50……only a twat would do that 👍 Make a stand peeps👊🏻🤝🙌🏻❤️😎 💪🏻
