Interview with May Ng, Founder of SuperMom TV
Key takeaways on how she went from 3-5k monthly revenue to consistent 5-figure income
1) Dare to Pivot if your current business/model/method is not working for you
- May switch from dropshipping to dropservicing when she couldn't scale quick enough for the 10k in 10 days challenge. This made her think out of the box and switch to an alternative method which is dropserving and she completed the challenge of making 10k in 9 days.
2) Sell high ticket good/service that gives higher margins in order to scale
- May used to do dropshipping that sells products less than $50, hence she depended on a lot of volume to scale which was hard. After switching to services, she managed to charge higher amounts and bundle packages and that allowed her to charge thousands of dollars and scale up her business faster!
3) Recurring Model
- May built a recurring element into her products & services and she continued to offer them complementary services and that helped her to retain her current clients while continue to get in new clients.
Tips for mothers running businesses:
- Have a routine, it helps to make her more discipline and less messy
- Use gadgets to help you with work. Like irobot etc...
- Tag team with people to take care of your kids. e.g. Husband, In-laws, etc...
And of course, there was many more nuggets of gold in the show itself!

Wear different hats
Most people started a business because they think they have expertise, they are good at doing certain things. But having expertise alone is not enough to start a business. In business there are 2 sides, the fulfilment side and the business side. If you want to do business, you need to learn and do the business side of the business.
Sales:
Most people don't like to do sales. But the main job of an entrepreneur, is to do sales. Because with sales, you can bring in income for your business. With income for your business, then you can start to plan how you want to distribute it to make your job easier and easier.
Marketing:
Most entrepreneurs focus on coming up with a good product. So they spent a lot of money and time just to get their products right, thinking that the product will sell itself. The fact is no product will sell itself, because nobody even know this product exists! And this is why marketing is important.
It will help to get your brand or products out there.
Delegate
Most entrepreneurs want to do everything themselves, because they feel that they can only ensure quality by doing this. But the fact is you only have 24 hours. You will tire yourself out if you do everything by yourself. If you worry about quality, start to come up with a system, which anyone can just start to follow the system and produce good quality product or service just like you.
Branding
Some people might be worried about coming up with system because people can copy the system and bring it somewhere else, or even start their own business and become a competitor. This is why you need to build a brand. People can steal anything about your business. But they can never steal your brand.

1. If there is SMOKE, there is probably FIRE - When a company is flagged for potential fraud multiple times, it should be a cause for concern.
2. CHEAP does not mean GOOD - While Wirecard is around $3 (it used to be $200), it does not mean it makes a good investment. If the business is indeed fraudulent, it be worthless at the end. $3 can potentially be $0.
3. Focus on MANAGEMENT - If the management has dodgy behaviour such as pledging shares and avoid investigations, you need to decide if you want to invest your money with their companies. Company managements are the stewards of your investment, choose wisely.
