That sinking feeling when you pick BEP20 instead of ERC20 and hit send 😬
It happens more than you’d think, and in most cases the money isn’t gone. Here’s what to actually do ✍️
Here’s what crypto got up to this week 👇
➡️ Whale balances reached 3,03M $BTC, the highest since November 2025, with large holders accumulating
➡️ Real-world assets on Solana grew from $700M to $4,3B over the past year
➡️ Sui Foundation is investing $30M into DATA Network, becoming the protocol’s largest institutional holder. DATA will migrate its operations to Sui and shut down its own blockchain once the move is complete
➡️ NEAR Protocol turned 6 years old since its mainnet launch
➡️ Blur is shutting down its NFT marketplace on November 12, though the protocol itself keeps running and BLUR retains its governance role over switching fees on and off
➡️ Mastercard launched its Global Money Platform, bringing stablecoin payments onto its own rails
➡️ Circle’s USDC became the first stablecoin in the EU designated as “significant” under MiCA
➡️ Two South Korean crypto exchanges were hacked - Gopax and Prabang were hit as part of a wider wave of cyberattacks on the country’s financial sector
➡️ Netflix released the trailer for The Altruists, an eight-episode series on the collapse of FTX, with all episodes landing November 19
🏆 Weekly Heroes are here
$BTC finished the week flat around $82K, holding its ground through two inflation reports that both came in hotter than expected. Uptober is running well behind its usual pace, and these three didn’t seem to care:
🥇 $SIREN +70,1%
🥈 $TIA +45,2%
🥉 $MAGIC +41,9%
Every hero needs a holder 👇
$VOLT is up 234% over the past month, and this token has been rebuilt from scratch twice ⚡
Volt Inu launched in December 2021 with a supply of 69 followed by twenty-one zeros. The number was so absurd that exchanges wouldn’t list it - the price carried more decimal places than their systems could handle.
So in April 2022 the project did something most teams never risk. It moved every holder onto a new contract and divided the entire supply by a billion, turning that number into 69 trillion. Then in May 2023 it did it again, migrating from V2 to V3 and retiring the old contract, same as it had retired the one before.
Two migrations that each required holders to actively move their own tokens, and the VOLT Army came along both times. Around them the project built a DEX, a staking platform, NFT collections and a P2E game, all funded by a deflationary model that buys back and burns.

$WIF is a photo of somebody’s puppy that turned into billions of dollars 🧢
1️⃣ The dog is real and she’s called Achi
A Shiba Inu living in South Korea, photographed on November 17, 2018, 2 months after she was born, in a pink beanie her owners knitted by hand. The picture spread as a profile-picture trend through 2019, 4 years before anyone made a token out of it.
2️⃣ The name came from a random reply
A professional Fortnite streamer set the photo as his avatar in 2019, and someone replied with the words “dogwifhat”. That was the whole naming process.
3️⃣ It launched at a hundredth of a cent
$WIF went live on Solana on November 20, 2023 at $0,000013, with an anonymous creator who has never come forward. Within weeks it had crossed a billion, and at its 2024 peak it was the third-largest memecoin in the world.
4️⃣ There’s no team wallet at all
The supply was fully distributed from day one, with nothing held back for a founder or a treasury. For a coin that reached billions, that’s genuinely rare, every campaign it has ever run was funded by holders pooling their own money.
5️⃣ The original photo sold for $4,3M
In March 2024 the image was auctioned as an NFT for 1,210 ETH, bought by trader GCR. The physical hat went separately a year later for around $800K.

$ETH is now available on Robinhood Chain
You can now swap Ethereum into one of the busiest networks - its DEX volume passed $3B in a single day last month. It joins the other networks we already support for $ETH, so you can send it wherever you actually need it.

A ChangeHero user put $1,000 into $SNEK two months ago, today it’s worth ~$2,700, with ~$1,700 in profit 🤑
$SNEK is listed on most major exchanges and is the biggest token on Cardano after $ADA. Not bad for a meme coin with zero team allocation.
Sssstill not holding? 🐍🐍
Before Base existed, before the memecoin existed, there was a cat 🐱
He belongs to Brian Armstrong, Coinbase’s co-founder, who named him Toshi after Satoshi Nakamoto. Coinbase liked the name enough to use it for its first mobile wallet years later, which means the cat was part of the company’s story long before anyone put him on a chain.
When Base went live in the summer of 2023, traders took the name and ran with it. Toshi appeared that July with nobody claiming authorship and nothing promised, and it became the thing people pointed at when they wanted to explain what Base was.
Everything else grew around that. NFToshis arrived within weeks, a collection of cat NFTs on Base. MEOW DAO followed in 2024 and handed decisions to the people holding the token.
The cat himself has done nothing this whole time. He lives in a house. An entire blockchain’s culture is built on him anyway.

Somebody put $599K into $PEPE today, spread across several buys 🤑
3 years on, $PEPE is still 420,69 trillion frogs and a community that was never sold anything to begin with.
Feels good man 🐸
Most people pick a coin and then decide what they want from it. That’s backwards, and it’s why portfolios end up as a pile of unrelated bets.
The order that works is the opposite. Decide what job you need filled, then find the asset that fills it.
✔️ Some positions exist to be boring. Big, liquid, held without touching, there so that the rest of your money has something to sit next to. You don’t buy those for upside, you buy them because you can get out at size without the price moving against you.
✔️ Others exist to bet on one specific thing happening. A network winning its category, a sector getting hot, an upgrade landing. Those are small by design, because the thing they’re betting on might not happen.
The mistake is treating them as the same category. Somebody reads about a project, likes the story, and puts in what they’d put into a core holding. Now a 5% bet is 40% of the portfolio and they’re emotionally attached to a thesis they haven’t checked in six months.
Two things make this easier. Write down what would prove the thesis wrong before you buy, so you’re not deciding during a crash. And set the position size while you’re calm, based on what you could watch disappear without doing something stupid.
We ran our October picks through exactly that - what each one is for, which conditions suit it, and what would break it 👇
Litecoin’s network went live 1️⃣5️⃣ years ago today 🎂
The genesis block came 6 days earlier, with a headline about Steve Jobs’ death written into it to prove it hadn’t been mined in secret. But October 13, 2011 was the day it actually opened to everyone, at a time the community picked by vote.
15 years on, it’s outlived most of what launched alongside it and $LTC remains one of the fastest ways to move money on-chain.
Here’s to another year, and thank you for the one of the best interns out there, Litecoin! 🎉
$ELSA is an AI agent that does your DeFi work while you type at it 🤖
Elsa AI takes a plain-language instruction and turns it into actual on-chain actions, finding yield, moving positions, managing a portfolio across Base, BNB Chain, Solana and other EVM networks, without you opening five apps to do it.
The token is what runs the thing: holders spend $ELSA to access the automation and the advanced tools, and it carries governance over how the platform develops.

📊 This week’s crypto recap
Uptober got shaky, bitcoin dipped below $80K overnight before buyers pulled it back, and the mood cooled with it.
Fear & Greed: 57 - down 11 points from last week, out of greed and into neutral
🔴 $BTC $83,350 | -3,06%
🔴 $ETH $2,551 | -6,16%
📈 Gainer of the week: $MAGIC
Treasure led a broad GameFi rally. This was sector money rotating in, and $MAGIC is small enough to feel it hardest.
📉 Loser of the week: $RVN
Ravencoin hit an all-time low as exchanges keep pulling support. Bitget dropped $RVN pairs in September, and Upbit, South Korea’s largest exchange, ends all $RVN trading today.
How do you see this week going?
10 things from this week worth knowing 👇
➡️ Everyone spent the week hoping Uptober wouldn’t turn into Rektober. $BTC slid from $87K on Tuesday to below $80K overnight before buyers pulled it back to around $82,9K, closing the week down 4%, with $244M leaving spot Bitcoin ETFs on Thursday alone
➡️ Ethereum completed its first atomic transaction between L1 and L2 on mainnet, meaning linked actions across both layers now either both succeed or both revert together, which removes a lot of the awkwardness from cross-chain operations
➡️ BNB Chain took first place for tokenized stock volume, passing $1 billion
➡️ Zcash activated the NU7 upgrade on testnet ahead of a November mainnet launch, which will cut the target block time from 75 seconds down to 25
➡️ Sui developers recorded a peak of 40,6 million TPS in a stress test simulating AI agents, about 6,7 times higher than their July result
➡️ LayerZero hit 200,000 transactions per second on its Zero chain
➡️ Samsung is bringing USDC transfers to 82 million Galaxy devices in the US. From late October, users can send USDC on Solana and Sui with no fees and move money to bank accounts in over 60 countries, credited in local currency
➡️ Stripe plans to expand its stablecoin card programme to more than 100 countries by the end of the year
➡️ South Korea became East Asia’s largest crypto market with roughly $449 billion in annual volume, nearly double Japan’s
➡️ The New York Times published a long feature on Changpeng Zhao

🥉 $MAGIC +26,01%

If you had spent $500 on $QNT two weeks ago, you'd be $1,197 richer today 🤑
The context that pushed the asset 239,5% in 14 days: on September 24 The Clearing House picked Quant to build the system that will let US banks clear and settle tokenized deposits. That's the payments network owned by 25 of the largest banks in America, moving over $2 trillion a day.
Quant will also sell tokenized deposits as a service to smaller institutions that can't build it themselves. The network is planned for the first half of 2027.
Maybe it's time to take a closer look at $QNT ⌚️
$ZAMA lets a blockchain do the maths without ever seeing the numbers 🔐
Zama built fully homomorphic encryption that works in practice, so a smart contract can process your balance while it stays encrypted, running on top of Ethereum and other networks. The token pays for that work: every encryption and decryption costs a fee in $ZAMA, and operators stake it to earn the right to do the computing.

"What does a chain built on peer-reviewed research do when it needs a crowd?"
Cardano spent years publishing academic papers and formally verifying its code. What it never had was culture. In April 2023 someone in the community launched $SNEK - a cartoon snake with a fair launch, zero allocation to the team and no VCs behind it.
It grew into the largest token on Cardano after $ADA itself, with tens of thousands of holders and integrations across dozens of applications in the ecosystem.
Now there's Snek.fun, a launchpad for new tokens built on Cardano, and Snek Energy, a genuine energy drink company. Input Output, the firm that built Cardano, eventually partnered with the snake to drive engagement across its own ecosystem.
One more fact worth knowing: the Snek Foundation asked Cardano's on-chain treasury for 5,000,000 ADA to fund exchange listings, and got it - restructured from a grant into a repayable loan, with public reporting twice a year. It was the first loan-based treasury withdrawal in Cardano's history.
$SNEK is up 139% over the past three months, and the biggest exchanges in crypto are getting closer with every step the community takes.

Ever wonder who's actually selling you crypto when you hit buy? 👀
Think about what would have to happen for a real person to be on the other side, they'd need to want to sell exactly what you're buying, in your exact amount, at that exact second, and the odds of that lining up are close to zero.
What's there instead is a market maker, someone keeping two prices posted at all times - one they'll buy from you at, one they'll sell to you at. They earn on the gap between the two: buy at $61,900, sell at $62,050, keep $150, thousands of times a day.
All of that is the normal version. The messier version is that what you see on screen isn't always what's there.
Exchanges show you a list of waiting orders at different prices, and that list is how people judge whether a coin is liquid. Some of those orders are placed by people with no intention of ever filling them, cancelled the moment price comes close, sitting there purely to make a coin look busier than it is.
Token projects do a tamer version of the same thing. They hire a market maker and pay a flat fee to keep quotes up, so the healthy-looking liquidity on a brand new coin is sometimes somebody being paid to put it there.
And nobody is obliged to stay. When the market turns violent they widen that gap or step back entirely, which is exactly why a swap during a crash fills worse than you expected.
Full guide covers how they make money, the four types of them, and how to tell real depth from the fake kind 👇
