You've seen the headline "A Muslim woman was assaulted in front of her seven-year-old son during a car parade in Moncton" and most likely watched the silent 30 second video that has been circulating all across MSM and social media. Before calling this a "hate crime," Canadians deserve to see the full picture and know that the woman described as Muslim, is not in fact a Muslim. She is from Brazil. A 30-second, muted clip is all that we have seen, but reports indicate the original recording was approximately 33 minutes long. If that's true, then the public is being asked to judge a complex incident based on less than 2% of the available footage. Context is key in any situation. According to witnesses who have publicly spoken about the incident, the "victim" was the aggressor by pushing, being aggressive and making racial slurs to the Canadians and spit on several people before the physical altercation occurred. This is not simply a story that begins where the viral clip starts. What is most concerning is how quickly MSM outlets and public officials appeared to characterize the incident as a racially motivated hate crime before all of the available evidence had been made public. This type of sensationalism shapes public opinion before the facts have been fully established and forms opinions in the minds of Canadians that are not founded in reality. Canadians deserve evidence, not edited clips, assumptions, or political narratives. The public needs to see the full video, with the audio. We need to hear from the witnesses who experienced the bad behavior of the "victim" prior to the altercation. Canadians must demand investigations to be based on all of the evidence - not a carefully selected 30-second clip. This shouldn't be about race. It should be about truth, due process, and ensuring that everyone is judged by the same standard. You can ONLY be charged if you flat out refuse to do the census, as in tell them you refuse 3. The census agent CANNOT charge you, they are just a regular old person working part time, they are NOT empowered to ticket 4. If you refuse, the ONLY thing the agent can do is pass the info to the AG/Crown agent to process 5. HOWEVER, without identificaiton of who you are, they cannot proceed... they would need YOU to confirm who you are and they MUST be able to ID you 6. Only ONE conviction has been processed because the woman flat our refused then did a constitutional challenge (which the JCCF is doomed to fail because your privacy is not being compromised)
