एक पैलिंड्रोम (Palindrome) एक ऐसा शब्द, वाक्य, या संख्या होता है जो दोनों ओर से पढ़ने पर एक समान रूप में रहता है। अर्थात, इसका अच्छा उदाहरण होता है “नयन” जो दोनों ओर से पढ़ने पर एक ही तरह से सुनाई देता है।
यदि हम इसे समझने के लिए संख्याओं के माध्यम से देखें, तो किसी संख्या को पैलिंड्रोम बनाने के लिए हमें उसे दोनों ओर से पढ़कर देखना होता है। उदाहरण के लिए, 121, 1331, 12321, आदि पैलिंड्रोम संख्याएँ हैं, क्योंकि इन्हें दोनों ओर से पढ़कर एक ही संख्या के रूप में प्राप्त किया जा सकता है।
