CM Shri Devendra Fadnavis Tweets: The ‘Missing’ is over… Maharashtra moves forward with stronger connectivity. Inaugurated and unveiled the plaque of the ‘Missing Link’ project under the capacity expansion of the Yashwantrao Chavan Mumbai–Pune Expressway, along with DCM Eknath Shinde ji and DCM Sunetratai Pawar. Extended greetings on Maharashtra Day and International Labour Day. A key milestone achieved for Mumbai–Pune commuters with the completion of this phase. The project now stands as a true ‘Connecting Link’, reducing travel time by nearly 30 minutes. The 22.33-metre-wide tunnel in the Lonavala region has been recognised by Guinness World Records as the world’s widest tunnel. Stretching from Khopoli exit to Sinhagad Institute, it is equipped with advanced safety systems including fire-fighting, water mist technology, emergency telephones, tunnel connectors, CCTV, a control room and an Intelligent Traffic Management System. The project also features India’s tallest cable-stayed highway bridge at 182 metres, designed over three years using wind tunnel modelling, reflecting engineering excellence. Appreciate the efforts of MSRDC, PWD teams and all workers who made this project possible under challenging conditions.
