Some people regard video games as harmless fun, or even as a useful educational tool. Others, however, believe that videos games are having an adverse effect on the people who play them. In your opinion, do the drawbacks of video games outweigh the benefits? Playing video games is indeed becoming increasingly common for all ages of people throughout the world. While it has many positive sides, in my view, the potential drawbacks are more than minor positives. Nowadays, more and more people prefer video games for a number of reasons. Chief among them is that humans can relax by doing it after a hard day, which means they try to reach some level that can help them relieve their daily stress and pass the time. A second key benefit might be educational purposes. Currently, there are many educational ones, helping people learn new skills. Foreign languages or learning how to drive can be good examples. In other words, they may drive electronic versions of cars or vehicles while making mistakes without causing harm to anyone. Despite the advantages described above, I would argue that the potential problems associated with e-games are more significant in comparison. The main one relates to decreasing people’s critical thinking. Recent research has shown that children who play video games are less creative than those who do not. As a result, children may not want to do the home tasks that are difficult for them and become addicted to playing games. Another key concern is that gaming requires a sedentary lifestyle, preventing people from doing physical workouts, which can cause health problems such as obesity among citizens. The glowing screen might also pose a danger to eyesight as well. In conclusion, although I recognize the possible advantages of electronic games in terms of relaxing and educating, it seems to me that the overall impact is more likely to be detrimental for the reasons stated above. For some people, consumer goods have become the most important thing in life. Do the advantages of this development outweigh the disadvantages? It is indeed become increasingly important in many parts of the world to be addicted to materialism more than anything else in recent years. While this new development can sometimes be beneficial, in my view, it is more likely to be detrimental overall. It is true that the rising pursuit of materialism can bring several benefits. Chief among them might be better living conditions and economic growth. People who have high social status may want to buy many things that can be useful for the industry as well. In other words, the growing demand for production will increase sales, providing better opportunities for companies and services. A second key benefit relates to the fact that materialistic tendencies could be beneficial for individuals too. People can use their strong desire to achieve something, and in this way they might push themselves to improve and work better, which translates to gaining happiness and achieving their goals. Despite the benefits described above, I would argue that the potential problems associated with overconsumption are more significant in comparison. The main one is related to the fact that people have emotional needs that cannot be met by physical needs. People, for example, require connection, such as love and attention, but by becoming too dependent on material stuff, they can forget the meaning of life and might have difficulty forming personal relationships with others. Another major concern is that materialism often leads to consumerism. The result of this is going to be harmful for the environment because they produce more waste, causing an increase in landfill sites. In conclusion, although I recognize the possible advantages of materialism, especially in terms of industry and people as a whole, it seems to me that its overall impact is more likely to be detrimental for the reasons stated above.(300 words) 🥵😓

Online shopping has various advantages for consumers, but it may also have several disadvantages including the loss of individual privacy. Do the advantages of online shopping for consumers outweigh the disadvantages? It is true that the rise of shopping online can bring several benefits. Chief among them may be convenience. Consumers do not have to go out of their home to buy necessary equipment, spend money to commute, or have difficulty carrying heavy things; instead, they can just order, and the product will be delivered right to their door. A second key benefit that is appealing to more and more consumers relates to the fact that buying online provides greater choice. In other words, it is much larger than traditional brick-and-mortar stores, which might be an opportunity for any person to buy anything they want. Despite the benefits described above, I would argue that the potential problems associated with online sales are more significant in comparison. The main one is related to the technique that e-commerce websites tend to use to use advertisements, which can influence people to buy certain products. As a result, consumers can buy them without thinking more, which is not necessary for them. As a consequence, it may create overconsumption. We should also keep in mind that for internet-based shopping, we have to pay beforehand. There is no guarantee that the product will be the same as we ordered or that we will take it or not. The result of this is going to be worse than we thought. In conclusion, although I recognize the possible advantages of buying from the internet, especially in terms of comfort and variety of products, it seems to me that its overall impact is more likely to be detrimental for the reasons stated above. In many countries, international tourism has become an important source of income. However, it also has negative effects. Do the advantages of international tourism outweigh the disadvantages? In recent years, tourism has indeed become increasingly common as a main income source in many parts of the world. While this new development can sometimes be beneficial, in my view, it is more likely to be detrimental overall. It is true that the rise of international tourism can bring several benefits. It brings money from all over the world, chief among them. Tourists who pay a visit to a country definitely pay for food, accommodation, and transport, leading to an increase in many parts of the industry. A second key benefit relates to the fact that countries will have an opportunity to show off their precious places and facilities in this way. In other words, it may provide an opportunity for the locality to be famous around the world. Despite the benefits described above, I would argue that the potential problems associated with tourism are more significant in comparison. The main one is that people can overrely on tourism-based activities as their main source of income and ignore other alternatives, which can tend to be negative if something happens. For example, many touristic countries experienced difficulties during the period of the lockdown in COVID-19. Another major concern relates to the increasing rate of cultural clashes. Foreigners may be irrespective of the local people’s beliefs, their lifestyle, or even their religion. The result of this is going to be detrimental in a number of ways. In conclusion, although I acknowledge and recognize the possible advantages of tourism, especially in terms of increasing the economy and gaining popularity, it seems to me that its overall impact is more likely to be harmful for the reasons stated above.
