#MUFC bench v Betis: Heaton, Butland, Lindelof, Maguire, Malacia, Sancho, Pellistri, Wan-Bissaka, Elanga, McTominay, Garnacho, Mainoo

Team v Real Betis: De Gea, Dalot, Varane, Martinez, Shaw, Casemiro, Fred, Antony, Fernandes, Weghorst, Rashford

Erik ten Hag goes with the same team as Sunday.

‘I want to make clear to you, our fans, that I share your bitter disappointment about the result, and the players have been left in no doubt that we cannot tolerate what we saw in the second half on Sunday. Me, the staff and all the players have to take joint responsibility.’

Ten Hag in programme: ‘There are some performances and results which cannot be quickly forgotten, and our defeat at Anfield is an obvious example of this. It is not acceptable for Manchester United to lose in that fashion to any team, but especially not to Liverpool.’ #mufc

Ten Hag on Lisandro Martinez: “On the ball, he can deal with it. I like him as a player. I like the attitude [that he has], and I hope that we can co-operate for a long time together.” [MU]

Ten Hag on Lisandro Martinez: “It’s extraordinary to work with him and because he has that capacity, and he wants to improve day by day. So, it’s nice to see his defending style. His attitude – everyone loves it, the fans love it, the defence loves it, and it gives spirit to the team.” [MU]

Ten Hag on Lisandro Martinez’s nickname: “I see 'The Butcher' in a positive way. Not in a negative way. His playing [style is] tough but not unfair. I think he is, especially, he is a defender, and he is defending in a good way.” [MU]

Marcus Rashford: “It's going to hopefully be an exciting game, but we need to do our best to put ourselves in a good position for the tie.” [MU]

Marcus Rashford on Real Betis: “It's obviously going to be a massive challenge. We expect them like most Spanish teams to be comfortable on the ball, comfortable in possession. They are going to bring the game to us and they have been in form at the moment in La Liga.” [MU]

A source close to #mufc players felt fundamental truths showed themselves at Anfield, saying: “We got bullied, every 50-50 they won. It was useful in some respects, people think we’re the finished article — we’re not.” [@lauriewhitwell]

The morning after #mufc’s 7-0 loss to Liverpool, Ten Hag led a full and frank video session to go through all the mistakes. Everybody was entitled to air their views in an attempt to ensure the same faults do not happen again. [@lauriewhitwell]

Ten Hag: “We have to keep that but the team has to give the first energy. Give the first action and then the crowd will be behind us.” [MU]

Ten Hag on the importance of the fans in reacting: “It's about unity but we let them down on Sunday and we don't want to. We are disappointed in that, we are disappointed in ourselves but we have seen the whole season we have a really strong bond.” [MU]

Ten Hag: “That is obviously the truth [that there’s lots to play for] but we can't lose 7-0 against Liverpool. We have to take that, but for the rest you are right. It's one loss and we are in the right position - don't forget that - right position in the league and still playing in three [competitions] and we can still win a lot.” [MU]

Ten Hag: “We need a win, but we play a very good opponent. We have to be ready for that. We are aware that when we play our best we have a good chance to win.” [MU]

Ten Hag: "[It was a] big defeat and we are all disappointed - we were mad. Now we have to reset and bounce back." [MU]
