FBReader 1.0.21 for iOS coming with iPhone 12 series compatibility and brings scalable image view. Long tap a picture in text, and pinch to zoom.

New FBReader Premium (for Android) distribution strategy coming soon. Currently, the only legal way to get the Premium is to buy and download it from the Google Play. This makes Premium unavailable for devices with no Google Play. The new scheme makes the app available from three sources. a) Google Play (for a fee) b) Huawei App Gallery (for a fee) c) https://fbreader.org site (the package would be downloadable for free) If your Android includes Google Services, and does not include App Gallery, you have to pay via Google Play to run Premium. Vice versa, if the device has App Gallery only, you have to pay via the Huawei store. If both are installed, you can select. Finally, if your device misses both, you can run the Premium for free. The bad news is that if you have paid via Google Play, and switched to a pure Huawei device, you have to pay again. We reserve the right to add more stores to this scheme in the future.

Update 1.0.20 brings compatibility with iOS 14. Custom fonts are supported again, and the popup menu is back in the library view. Please, report more issues in a comment to this message.

The end of Summer brings minor updates for both Android (3.0.16) and iOS (1.0.10). Both fixes relatively rare position saving/restoring issues. The next iOS app update 1.0.11 integrates FBReader day/night feature with system light/dark modes. It will be available immediately after the official iOS 13 release.

FBReader 3.0.12 for Android improves the text-to-speech feature. The main addition is the reading timer. You can run reading with a time limit. And yes, we slightly updated the icon.

Update 3.0.6 for Android and format plugins 2.2.7 are on the Google Play. Hopefully, this update resolves the mysterious issues of series 3.0: lags, battery power consuming, and even crashes on old (Android 4.4 and 5.x) devices. Additionally, we fixed the inter-column space bug for PDF/DjVu formats and improved the voice selection dialogue in text-to-speech.

Long-awaited 3.0 for Android is out. The biggest update since 2017 already on the Play Store. No background service for the library, built-in reading aloud in Premium. Multiple minor fixes. Premium edition with the new feature for the old price until 20th March.
