PRODUCT PITCHING CATEGORY REGISTRATION/ ENTRY GUIDELINES To participate, the following should be submitted: Online Entry Form A folder containing the following documents: i. Abstract (150 words or less) ii. Video Presentation (5-minute long or less) iii. Supporting documents (eg. MyIPO/ Testimonies/etc.) (if applicable) iv. Proof of Payment VIDEO GUIDELINES Participants are required to present their product according to the structure below: i. Demands/Needs: How does your product meet the current demands/needs? ii. Uniqueness & Niche : In what ways your product is different and/or unique? iii. Approach: What innovative and compelling approach have you utilized in your product development? iv. Benefits/Solution: What are the benefits of your product?/Does the product solve any particular issues or needs? v. Research Evidence (if applicable): Is your product backed by empirical data to prove its effectiveness? Be sure to include this evidence in your pitch. ABSTRACT GUIDELINES Abstract must be in ONE (1) paragraph only no longer than 150 words. Abstract must be free of grammatical mistakes. An effective abstract for product pitching category should align with the video content. Hence, your abstract should consist of a brief statement summarizing the following points: i. Demands/Needs: How does your product meet the current demands/needs? ii. Uniqueness & Niche : In what ways your product is different and/or unique? iii. Approach: What innovative and compelling approach have you utilized in your product development? iv. Benefits/Solution: What are the benefits of your product?/Does the product solve any particular issues or needs? v. Research Evidence (if applicable): Is your product backed by empirical data? Be sure to include this evidence in your abstract. Proof of Payment ABSTRACT GUIDELINES Abstract must be in ONE (1) paragraph only with 300 words or less. Abstract must be free of grammatical mistakes. Benefits to Society VIDEO GUIDELINES Video presentation MUST NOT EXCEED FIVE (5) minutes. Awards/recognition received (if applicable) Of course, creativity is a plus point as it helps to make your video stands out. Remember, this is a competition. Please make sure that the video has: clear sound and lighting minimum background noise a duration of FIVE (5)-minute long or less POSTER GUIDELINES (FOR INVENTION, INNOVATION AND DESIGN CATEGORIES) Please note that poster submission for Invention, Innovation and Design categories is encouraged but NOT a requirement. Poster size should be in a single page A1 or A0 size (landscape or portrait). TERMS AND CONDITIONS : 1. Entry is OPEN to academic staff, non-academic staff, and students from local universities, polytechnic, institutes, colleges, and schools locally and internationally. 2. Entry is limited to FIVE (5) members per team. 3. Submission is either in Bahasa Melayu or English only. 4. All registrations must be completed ONLINE and the competition is carried out virtually. 5. Participants are encouraged to compete in the COMBO PACKAGE entry, where they can choose either Innovation, Invention or Design category, in addition to Product Pitching. 6. Only registrations with PAID FEES will be processed and officially recognized as participants of the competition. 7. Duration of video submission is STRICTLY LIMITED TO FIVE (5) MINUTES ONLY and the maximum capacity of the overall submission material is 1 GIGABYTE (1GB) . 8. Collaborative efforts with industries without Intellectual Property (IP) infringement are encouraged. 9. The organizers have the right to reject any entries if deemed unsuitable for the competition. 10. The dateline for submission is by 5pm, OCTOBER 31ST, 2020.
