The Cognitive Neuroscience Unit is provided with several state-of-the-art devices necessary for the application of brain stimulation techniques (transcranial magnetic stimulation: TMS, rTMS, and transcranial electrical stimulation: tDCS, tACS and tRNS) and for the recording and the analysis of electrophysiological signals (EEG, EMG) as well as neuropsychological testing. The simultaneous co- registration of electroencephalography and TMS application is also available, field where we have been pioneers in the national research.

Dear all, Please find below an announcement for a post-doc position to work on a project of TMS-EEG coregistration, located at the Cognitive Neuroscience Unit, IRCCS Centro San Giovanni di Dio Fatebenefratelli, Brescia (Italy), led by prof. Carlo Miniussi. We would be mostly grateful if you could circulate this notice to possibly interested candidates. Cheers, Marta Bortoletto and Anna Fertonani Marta Bortoletto, PhD Cognitive Neuroscience Section, IRCCS Centro San Giovanni di Dio Fatebenefratelli Via Pilastroni 4, 25125 Brescia, Italy Phone number: (+39) 0303501594 E-mail: marta.bortoletto@cognitiveneuroscience.it web: http://www.cognitiveneuroscience.it/ Job description The Cognitive Neuroscience Unit, IRCCS Centro San Giovanni di Dio Fatebenefratelli, led by Prof. Carlo Miniussi is seeking to recruit a post-doctoral research fellow to work on a project of TMS-EEG coregistration. The research focus of these projects is the effects of non-invasive brain stimulation (TMS and tES) on cortical networks of the human brain during motor and perceptual tasks and their contributions to learning. The post is available from May 2017 and is funded for one year in the first instance, with the possibility of extension for further 2 years. Key Requirements • We are seeking for aspiring individuals with substantial experience in TMS-EEG or EEG research and strong computational abilities. • The applicants should also be interested in studying cortical networks and their disorders. • Successful candidates should have a background and PhD degree in a neuroscience-related field, broadly specified, and skills for working with complex empirical data and human subjects. • Applicants should have experience with conducting experimental research, hands-on knowledge in EEG method, and documented skills in at least one programming language (preferably Matlab). • Good command of the English language (written and oral), as well as skills for teamwork in a multidisciplinary research group, are required. • Experience with advanced EEG signal processing, EEG source localization, connectivity analyses and a strong publication record are an advantage. What we offer • Gross salary: 25.000-28.000 euro per annum • Excellent working environment • Opportunity to work in a motivated, skilled, inspired and supportive group • A chance to work in Italy – one of the most beautiful countries in the world To apply, please send the following items, as ONE PDF FILE and via email to Dr. Anna Fertonani (anna.fertonani@cognitiveneuroscience.it) preferably by March 31st 2017.
