Recently, XCMG’s 4,000-ton crawler crane XGC88000 successfully hoisted an 18MW offshore wind turbine. ⭐This 18-megawatt offshore wind turbine weighs nearly 800 tons, has a hub center height of 145 meters, and a blade tip height of nearly 270 meters. 🦾The installation of the world's longest blade is a difficult and key point in the entire hoisting process: more than 170 bolts need to be accurately inserted into the corresponding holes of the wheel hub at an altitude of nearly 150 meters.💥 Credited by: XCMG Group #XCMG #XGC88000 #bigmachinery #crawlerCrane #Crane #XCMGCrane #heavyequipment #heavymachinery#xcmgnews #breakingnews #ConstructionSite #ConstructionWorker #crawlercrane #XGC88000 #ConstructionLife #windpower #Crane #Construction #Safety

They’ve invented a novel technology for installing monopile foundations on our offshore wind projects with even lower noise. For decades, they’ve been deploying measures to build sustainably and protect ocean life. With this new technology, they’re introducing the next generation of nature-friendly installation methods. The system uses a patented jetting technology attached to the monopile to lower the resistance of the sandy soil, further reducing noise during installation. They’ve successfully tested this innovative method at their Gode Wind 3 Offshore Wind Farm in Germany, marking a milestone on their net-positive biodiversity journey and a potential game changer for how to build offshore wind. Offshore Installation vessel Boreas - How does it work? The Boreas is preparing Van Oord for the increase in scale in the offshore wind industry. The vessel measures 175 metres in length and has a crane with a 155-metre-high boom, able to lift over 3,000 tonnes. Four giant legs, each measuring 126 metres, allow the vessel to be jacked up and work in waters up to 70 metres deep. It will therefore be able to install the next generation of 20 MW offshore wind turbines at sea. How Ocean Waves Could Become the Primary Power Source for Our Homes? Introducing the Waveline Magnet: a decade-long innovation in wave energy conversion. Designed like a serpent, this device attaches to the ocean's surface, harmonizing with its motions to reduce wear. Comprising a spine, platforms, levers, and a power takeoff, this system is engineered to capture the ocean's kinetic energy. The power takeoff pumps and pressurizes seawater, effectively converting wave energy into usable power. This was proven in a test off Scotland, where sizable waves generated an impressive 140 gigawatts annually. However, the marine environment poses challenges. Seawater's corrosive composition, combined with humidity and metal-eating bacteria, can deteriorate equipment rapidly. Despite these hurdles, the drive to harness wave energy remains strong, with innovators working diligently to bring this sustainable energy frontier to life.
