Reasons for not having Khushu and its cure - Sheikh Ibn Baz Question: I am a young man who tries to cry when I read the Qur'an, pray, or remember the state of the Muslims. However, I am unable to do so. What are the reasons for this, and what is the remedy? Answer: There are many reasons for this, not being able to cry has reasons, Among them: قسوة القلوب بسبب المعاصي والذنوب، فإنَّ القلوب إذا قست قلَّت دمعةُ العين، The hardness of the heart due to disobedience and sins. When hearts harden, tears of the eyes become scarce. However if he holds himself accountable, has taqwā of Allah, leaves off sins, and remains steadfast upon His commandment, then his heart becomes humble, and his eyes shed tears. Another reason is the heedlessness due to waswās (whispers) that comes upon the heart here and there, until it diverts him from khushū' (humility towards Allah with focus) and shedding tears. He could be a pious person but wasāwis overcome and occupy him until it diverts him away from the remembrance of Allah, revering Him, being humble in front of Him, and he could also be troubled by thoughts that preoccupy him. Therefore, it is necessary to focus his heart in his prayer, in his recitation (of the Qur'an in it), and in his remembrance of Allah. In doing so, the heart will be humbled, and tears will flow from the eyes.

The one who has Ikhlaas has the entire world in their hands. Not the feigned Ikhlaas, the genuine real one. Drill the value of GOOD IKHLAAS in our children. Let them go to bed hungry, and they suffer NO harm. Rob, your children of good Ikhlaas, you've not only done them a disservice but failed them and their future. The lack of ikhlass results in a lifetime of barriers and challenges. DONT do that to children. When you set about teaching children about ikhlaas, they will call you out for every misstep, should we fail to uphold the values of TRUE Ikhlaas ourselves. We make dua for the betterment of the ENTIRE Ummah.

If Allah Is Preparing You For A Major Blessing, He May First Take You Through These 7 Silent Transformations 🤍✨ 1️⃣ He Strengthens Your Tawakkul You stop relying on people and begin relying on Allah alone. 2️⃣ He Teaches You Patience The delay isn't meant to break you—it's meant to prepare you. 3️⃣ He Purifies Your Heart You slowly let go of pride, envy, resentment, and attachment to the dunya. 4️⃣ He Draws You Closer To Him Your Salah becomes more meaningful, your du'a more sincere, and your Qur'an more beloved. 5️⃣ He Closes Certain Doors Not every closed door is a loss. Some are acts of Allah's mercy and protection. 6️⃣ He Makes You Grow Through Hardship The trials that seem to weaken you are often shaping the person you're becoming. 7️⃣ He Changes You Before He Changes Your Situation The greatest blessing isn't only receiving what you asked for—it's becoming someone who is closer to Allah because of the journey. ✨ Sometimes Allah prepares the person before He delivers the blessing.

💐 #FORGIVENESS - "ALLAAH WILL CHANGE THEIR SINS INTO GOOD DEEDS" - II 💐 إِلَّا مَنْ تَابَ وَآمَنَ وَعَمِلَ عَمَلًا صَالِحًا فَأُولَٰئِكَ يُبَدِّلُ اللَّهُ سَيِّئَاتِهِمْ حَسَنَاتٍ ۗ وَكَانَ اللَّهُ غَفُورًا رَحِيمًا "Except those who repent and believe (in Islamic Monotheism), and do righteous deeds, for those, Allah will change their sins into good deeds, and Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful." -Surah Al-Furqan, Ayah 70 🍃 Ibn Abi Hatim recorded that Abu Jabir heard Makhul say, "A very old man with sunken eyes came and said, O Messenger of Allah, a man betrayed others and did immoral deeds, and there was no evil deed which he did not do. If (his sins) were to be distributed among the whole of mankind, they would all be doomed. Is there any repentance for him?" Have you become Muslim? He said, "As for me, I bear witness that there is no God but Allah Alone, with no partner or associate, and that Muhammad is His servant and Messenger." Allah will forgive you for whatever you have done like that, and will replace your evil deeds with good merits. The man said:"O Messenger of Allah, even my betrayals and immoral actions?" The Prophet said: وَغَدَرَاتُكَ وَفَجَرَاتُك Even your betrayals and immoral actions. "The man went away saying La ilaha illallah' and `Allahu Akbar."' 🍃 Allah tells us how His mercy extends to all His creatures, and that whoever among them repents to Him, He will accept his repentance for any sin, great or small. 📚 Extract from Tafsir_Ibn_Kathir (Part 2/2)

The final two verses of Surah Al-Baqarah teach us the complete journey of the believer. He begins with faith, آمَنَ He receives revelation, بِمَا أُنزِلَ إِلَيْهِ مِن رَّبِّهِ He submits, سَمِعْنَا وَأَطَعْنَا He recognises his shortcomings, غُفْرَانَكَ رَبَّنَا He remembers his destination, وَإِلَيْكَ الْمَصِيرُ He trusts Allah’s mercy, لَا يُكَلِّفُ اللَّهُ نَفْسًا إِلَّا وُسْعَهَا He takes responsibility, لَهَا مَا كَسَبَتْ وَعَلَيْهَا مَا اكْتَسَبَتْ He asks for pardon, forgiveness and mercy, And finally, he declares that Allah alone is his Protector, أَنتَ مَوْلَانَا These ayaat remind us that the believer is not perfect. He believes, submits, strives, seeks forgiveness and continually returns to Allah.

How come we claim to love one another for the sake of Allaah, but then do not tolerate a genuine mistake or a misunderstanding? Loving one another for the sake of Allaah doesn’t mean that we see eye to eye and agree with each other in every matter. When we are upon the same Deen, same Aqeedah, and same Manhaj, then what is holding us back from loving one another for the sake of Allaah except for our sins?! Shaikh Ibn al-Uthaymeen رحمه الله said: ❝And in this, there is an indication that the ones who love one another for the sake of Allaah, nothing from the matters of the Dunya breaks (or interferes in) their love for the sake of Allaah. They love each other for the sake of Allaah and nothing separates them except death. Even if one wrongs the other, or falls short on fulfilling the rights of the other, this still does not affect them because their love is for the sake of Allaah عز وجل; but he does try to correct him, and points out to him where he has fallen short, as this is part of the perfection of Naseehah. May Allaah make us and the Muslims love one another for His sake, helping one another in righteousness and piety. Indeed, He is Jawaad, Kareem.❞ [Sharh Riyaadh al-Saaliheen (3/263)]

The Messenger of Allāh ﷺ said: When a slave of Allāh suffers from illness or sets on a journey, he is credited with the equal of whatever good works he used to do when he was healthy or at home. [Riyāḍ uṣ-Ṣāliḥīn 133]

When death comes, do not be attached to this world... Do not worry about what will happen to your body after you leave this life. Your Muslim brothers and sisters will fulfil what Allah has legislated. They will: 1. Remove your clothes. 2. Wash your body. 3. Shroud you. 4. Pray the funeral prayer over you. 5. Carry you from your home. 6. Place you in your grave, your first station of the Hereafter. Many people will attend your funeral. Some may leave their work and worldly affairs to bid farewell to you. Yet remember, the greatest benefit you could have received was not merely people standing beside your body after death, but sincere advice, obedience to Allah, and righteous companionship while you were alive. Your possessions will remain behind: Your keys. Your books. Your belongings. Your clothes. Your wealth. Your home. Your possessions. Your family may distribute what you leave behind. If they give charity from their own wealth on your behalf, this may benefit you by Allah’s permission. But what will truly accompany you to your grave are your deeds. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: “When the son of Ādam dies, his deeds come to an end except for three: ongoing charity, beneficial knowledge, or a righteous child who supplicates for him.” (Saḥīḥ Muslim) Know that this world will continue after you depart. The markets will remain open. The people will continue their lives. Your position will be filled by someone else. Your wealth will pass to your heirs. But you will stand before Allah alone. You will be questioned about your faith, your deeds, your obligations, and how you used the blessings Allah gave you. The people who knew you will remember you according to what they knew of you. Some will grieve briefly. Some will remember you for longer. Some will make du‘ā’ for you. But eventually, people return to their lives. Your time among them will end. Your true journey will begin. The grave is a reality. The resurrection is a reality. The standing before Allah is a reality. Allah says: “Every soul will taste death, and you will only be given your full reward on the Day of Resurrection.” (Qur’an 3:185) When you enter the grave, these things will leave you: Your appearance. Your wealth. Your strength. Your children. Your homes. Your possessions. Your status. Everything of this worldly life. What remains is your īmān and your deeds. So ask yourself: What have I prepared for my meeting with Allah? Prepare through: 1. Guarding the obligatory acts, especially the five daily prayers. 2. Performing voluntary acts of worship. 3. Giving charity sincerely for Allah’s sake. 4. Repenting from sins and striving for righteousness. 5. Standing in prayer at night. 6. Holding firmly to the Qur’an and the Sunnah upon the understanding of the righteous predecessors. Perhaps Allah will have mercy upon you and save you. Do not delay repentance, for no soul knows when its appointed time will arrive. Allah says: “And remind, for indeed the reminder benefits the believers.” (Qur’an 51:55) May Allah grant us a good ending, make our graves gardens from the gardens of Paradise, and allow us to meet Him while He is pleased with us.. Aameen

ibn al-Qayyim said: “Whoever mocks people will be mocked in return. And whoever shames his brother for a fault or sin will inevitably be tested with it himself.” -al-Furusiyyah (109)

*A reminder to reflect upon* Boundaries don't make you a villain. They simply expose who was benefiting from your lack of them. The people who respected you before will usually continue to respect you. Those who become angry are often grieving the loss of access, control, convenience, or emotional entitlement, not your character. Stop measuring the correctness of your boundaries by other people's reactions. Some people will call you arrogant because you stopped over-explaining. Some will call you selfish because you stopped over-giving. Some will call you cold because you stopped tolerating disrespect. Their discomfort is not always evidence that you are wrong. Protecting your peace is not cruelty. Saying "no" is not oppression. Walking away from repeated disrespect is not a lack of forgiveness. Islam teaches us to be kind, just, and merciful, but it does not command us to become doormats for those who repeatedly harm us. Not everyone who paints you as the villain is telling the truth. Sometimes you only became the "bad person" because you finally stopped accepting what was never okay to begin with.

The Prophet ﷺ said: The fire is forbidden for every person who is hayyin, layyin, qarib, and sahl. Meaning of the 4 qualities: a. Hayyin – a calm person who is not harsh or quick to anger. b. Layyin – gentle in speech and behaviour, bringing peace to others. c. Qarib – approachable, friendly, not arrogant. d. Sahl – makes things easy for others, not difficult or complicated. (Tirmidhi)
