Ruling on Burying a Non-Muslim Family Member
📩Question:📩
I have a question:⤵️
I am a new Muslim, al-ḥamdulillāh, and I am the only Muslim in my family.
I am the one who financially supports my family and bears responsibility for them.
My question is:⤵️
If one of my family members passes away and the responsibility of burying them falls upon me, is it permissible for me to bury them in the manner in which we bury the deceased Muslims in Islam?
May Allāh reward you with goodness.
📨Answered by:📨
🎙Shaykh Fatḥ
If the situation is as you have described, then he is simply buried meaning, he is buried without the funeral prayer being performed over him.
Why? For the purpose of burying the corpse and disposing of the body.
As for where he is to be buried: ⤵️
if he is a non-Muslim whether he is a Jew, a Christian, a Magian, or belongs to any of these other well-known religions of disbelief then he is not to be buried in the burial grounds of the Muslims.
Rather, a cemetery should be found for him in which he can be buried.
He is buried so that the people are not harmed by the foul smell and decay of his corpse.
As for burying him in the cemeteries of the Muslims, then no.
The Muslim is buried in the cemeteries of the Muslims, and the disbeliever is buried in the cemeteries of the disbelievers.

Etiquettes and Responsibilities Concerning Means of Transportation
📥Question:📥
This question is directed to Ash-Shaykh Abee ʿAbdillāh
Faysal Al-Hashidee ((حفظه الله)):
Are there authentic hadiths concerning a person’s means of transportation, its desirable qualities, how it should be used, and the purposes for which it ought to be used? How can the teachings of these hadiths be applied to modern means of transportation, such as cars?
We kindly request that the Shaykh provide a detailed answer to this question, explaining the benefits, etiquettes, and responsibilities related to this subject. May Allāh bless him.
📤 Answered by 📤
✍️ Ash-Shaykh Abee
ʿAbdillāh Faysal
All praise is due to Allāh, and may prayers and peace be upon the Messenger of Allāh.
To proceed:⤵️
The Sunnah contains etiquettes concerning means of transportation, including the following:
First: ⤵️
Remembering Allāh when boarding.
When the Prophet ((ﷺ)) mounted his riding animal, he would proclaim Allāh’s greatness three times, then recite:
“Glory to Him Who has subjected this to us, and we could never have it (by our efforts). And verily, to Our Lord we indeed are to return!”
[Az-Zukhruf, {13–14}
He would then recite the supplication for travel. This is established in Ṣaḥīḥ Muslim and at-Tirmidhī.
This is also prescribed when boarding a car, aeroplane, ship, or other means of transportation, as they fall within the meaning of a conveyance that has been subjected to human use.
Second: ⤵️
Treating one’s mount gently and not exhausting it.
He ((ﷺ)) said:
“When you travel through fertile land, give the camels their share of the land. When you travel during drought, make them travel
swiftly…”
[Reported by Muslim]
If this applies to animals, then, all the more so, care should be taken not to damage a car or neglect its maintenance, not to load it beyond what it can bear, and to keep it safe.
Third: ⤵️
Not making one’s means of transportation a tool for reckless amusement or harming people.
A car is not for reckless speeding, drifting, disturbing people, or endangering oneself and others. The Sharīʿah came to preserve lives and property, and any means likely to result in harm is prohibited in proportion to its harm.
Fourth: ⤵️
Using one’s means of transportation for permissible activities and acts of obedience.
A person may use it to seek a livelihood, maintain ties of kinship, seek knowledge, go to the mosques, fulfil the needs of Muslims, and engage in other permissible activities. It is forbidden to use it for anything Allāh has prohibited, such as transporting prohibited items or helping people commit sins.
Among the beautiful aspects of the Prophet’s ((ﷺ)) guidance concerning mounts is his statement to the owner of a riding animal:
“You have more right to the front seat of your riding animal than I do, unless you give it to me.”
This demonstrates consideration for the rights of the owner of the conveyance and refraining from infringing upon them.
Among the most important etiquettes and responsibilities concerning a car are:
Safeguarding your own life, the lives of those travelling with you, and the lives of those sharing the road with you.
Observing traffic regulations established to preserve lives and property, provided they do not involve disobedience to Allāh.
Avoiding speeds that endanger people.
Not using a phone or becoming occupied with anything that takes away your concentration while driving.
Maintaining the car and repairing anything that affects its safety.
Not loading it beyond its capacity.
Preserving passengers’ rights and not harming them.
Using it for good and avoiding using it for what is forbidden.
Remembering Allāh’s blessing when boarding it, for it is among the things Allāh has subjected to human use.
Although cars did not exist during the Prophet’s ((ﷺ)) time, the rulings and etiquettes of the Sharīʿah are not confined to a particular type of conveyance.

Glad Tidings: The Pure Woman Published
Glad Tidings, O Ahlus-Sunnah!
All praise belongs to Allāh. Through His favour and assistance, The Pure Woman: Khadījah Bint Khuwaylid has been printed and published.
We extend our sincere thanks to our brothers who worked hard to bring this endeavour to completion, and to everyone who contributed to its translation, editing, design, printing, and publication. We ask Allāh to reward them abundantly and bless their efforts.
In particular, we ask Allāh to grant a great reward to the author, our virtuous Shaykh, Abee ʿAbdillāh Faysal Al-Hashidee (حفظه الله ورعاه), and to make his work a lasting source of benefit.
The Prophet (صلى الله عليه وعلى آله وسلم) said:
“عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ " لاَ يَشْكُرُ اللَّهَ مَنْ لاَ يَشْكُرُ النَّاسَ "
Narrated Abu Hurayrah:⤵️
The Prophet ((ﷺ)) said: He who does not thank the people is not thankful to Allah.
[Sunan Abī Dāwūd, no. 4811]
Sahih (Al-Albani)
Allāh, the Most High, says:
﴿لَئِن شَكَرْتُمْ لَأَزِيدَنَّكُمْ﴾
If you are grateful, I will surely increase you (of My Blessings]
Ibrāhīm, [:7 ]
He also says:
“And if you would count the graces of Allah, never could you be able to count them.”
An-Naḥl,{:18}
Our intention in this endeavour is to seek the Face of Allāh and His reward. We ask Him to make our intentions sincere and to accept this work from everyone involved.
We hope that this book will benefit Islam and the Muslims, especially our sisters and mothers, and those who have yet to learn about the lives of the Mothers of the Believers (رضي الله عنهن): their faith, noble conduct, patience, sacrifices, and service to Islam.
Khadījah bint Khuwaylid (رضي الله عنها) offers a beautiful example. She believed in the Messenger of Allāh (صلى الله عليه وعلى آله وسلم), comforted and supported him, and stood beside him through hardship throughout her life.
Her biography contains valuable lessons in steadfastness, generosity, loyalty, and devotion to Allāh.
By Allāh’s favour, the Companions men and women alike played a tremendous role in supporting Islam and conveying this religion to those who came after them. Learning about their lives helps us appreciate their efforts and take guidance from their examples.
We ask Allāh to place abundant blessing in this book, allow it to reach many homes, and make it a means through which our sisters, mothers, and the wider community learn from the noble example of Khadījah
May Allāh reward the author and everyone who contributed, accept their efforts, and make this publication a source of beneficial knowledge and continuing reward.
