According to a statement attributed to the local Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) sources in Dera Ghazi Khan, the group has issued a final warning to individuals who have joined peace committees in South Punjab, specifically in the Dera Ghazi Khan region. The group claims that it has been urging people to stay out of the conflict for the past year and alleges that tribal leaders are forcibly pushing youth into peace committees against their will. The statement references a previous incident in which seven individuals were detained and later released on surety. The TTP has now issued a two‑day ultimatum for committee members to resign, warning that after the deadline, those who remain will face action. The group further claims to possess a list of committee members and has indicated that action will begin with those identified on it.

A statement from militant sources has addressed recent arrests of individuals from the Darpakhel tribe in Mir Ali district, North Waziristan. The statement clarified that its actions are not directed against the tribe but are part of a dispute over weapons that, according to the group, have not been returned.
Background:
According to statement from militants sources, a clash occurred in Darpakhel village last month, between Darpakhel tribe and militants from the area. Both the Darpakhel tribe and militants reportedly suffered losses during the incident.
Jirga and agreement:
Following the clash, a jirga was held between elders of the Darpakhel tribe, elders of Atmanzai in Mir Ali, and militant leadership. Participants included the Governor of North Waziristan, the district head of Miranshah, the district head of Mir Ali, and other local elders. During the meeting, it was reportedly agreed that the Darpakhel tribe would return weapons that had been left behind by militants. The tribe committed to compiling a list and returning the weapons within a few days.
Current situation:
The group alleges that the Darpakhel tribe has broken its promise and has not returned the weapons to date. The statement emphasized that the militants' target remains security agencies and that the group does not intend to oppress innocent people.
