🔥 INVESTING IS NOT ABOUT GETTING RICH QUICK I think a lot of people misunderstand the real purpose of investing. Most of us start investing with very ordinary goals. To make some extra money. Build more wealth. Take better care of our families. Or simply have more choices in the future. But then we see other people turning their accounts into 2x, 5x, or 10x, and everything starts to change. Investing turns into chasing the next big trade. Accumulating turns into FOMO. Wanting a better life turns into wanting to get rich as fast as possible. And that’s when the risks start to grow. I’ve been in the financial markets for more than 10 years. I’ve experienced periods of making a lot of money, losing money, and watching my portfolio rise and fall dramatically. The longer I stay in the market, the more I realize that the goal of investing isn’t to make the most money possible. It’s to make money, keep that money, and continue growing it for many years. That’s also why I like simple strategies such as DCA. Choose an asset you understand, make a plan in advance, and keep buying over time. When the price is high, you buy less. When the price is low, you buy more. You don’t need to spend every day trying to predict the exact top or bottom. And you don’t need to constantly search for the next “100x opportunity” that will change your life. Of course, DCA doesn’t mean blindly buying something and forgetting about it. You still need to understand what you’re buying, know how much risk you can accept, and most importantly, know whether you can stick to your plan for the long term. For me, good investing isn’t about making the most money in one market cycle. It’s about still having money and still being here after many cycles. When the market goes up, your assets grow. When the market goes down, you keep working, earning money, and waiting for opportunities. Meanwhile, life goes on. I still want to spend time with my wife and kids, my family, my health, and the things that make life worth living. Because in the end, money is just a tool. If you make a lot of money but spend every day stressed about your portfolio, have no time left for your family, and sacrifice your health along the way, I think that price is too high. I’d rather move a little slower if it means I can keep going for much longer. When I look back 10 or 20 years from now, I want to still have my wealth, my health, my family beside me, and more freedom to choose how I live my life. That’s the kind of wealth I want.
