IDF claims that it has taken control over the strategic Ali Taher Ridge in southern Lebanon, "both above and below ground". A suspected connection between the sabotage attacks on power infrastructure in Jänschwalde, Brandenburg, and Bergheim, North Rhine-Westphalia, is considered likely, according to Tagesschau.

Tagesschau reports that authorities have opened 24 espionage investigations this year, including 12 involving cyberespionage, alongside 40 additional reviews. Police have recorded 112 espionage-related offenses, including more than 60 cases of unauthorized surveillance imagery and 26 involving suspected agent activity for sabotage purposes.

There has been an assassination attempt on Major General Nikolai Nikolaevich Varpakhovich, commander of the 22nd Heavy Bomber Aviation Division, which operates of Tu-95, Tu-160, and Tu-22m3 bombers out of Engles. He was shot twice at his home in Saratov Oblast and is in critical condition. His unit has commanded several notable strikes on Ukraine including the strike on the Kyiv Children's Hospital in July, 2024.

Israeli Defense Minister Katz says there are signs that Iran’s severe economic pressure and fears of an uprising or the regime’s collapse could drive Tehran to take “desperate steps.” Katz warned that any Iranian attack on Israel would “remove all restraints,” saying Israel would strike all infrastructure, including energy facilities, and “send Iran back to the Stone Age and into darkness.”
