Repost from Manon Bannerman
Manon opens up about songwriting
Some of my favorite songwriters i would include Pharrel Williams, Bob Marley, SZA, Solange Knowles, Frank Ocean... Big on Frank Ocean, Adele. My process is what I wanna talk about next. I love how certain songs make me feel and how understood i can feel by a body of work from someone else that I've never met before. I mean, I like to write songs cause it makes me feel good, but i hope that maybe one day, I get to make other people feel good too. I, you know, started off with silly little love songs and about crushes that i had and some songs were so dramatic for what it actually was. I tend to be a perfectionist sometimes. And i think with songwriting sometimes I was like, "Okay, this needs to be good." And then, there's no correct form to make music. There's no rules.© Meret Manon
