Surprisingly my class today was cancelled. That gave me the freedom to do whatever I wanted. I’ve been listening to a podcast about brain rot, the side effects of social media, how AI is affecting us, and how to break free from the rhythm we’re stuck in to reclaim our lives and much more. One fascinating point I heard was about TikTok: the version in China is completely different from the one used in other countries. For Chinese kids, the algorithm promotes patriotism, encourages following scientists, and even enforces time limits. many board members of social media companies don’t allow their own children to use these platforms. It made me wonder...are they knowingly feeding poison to the public while protecting their close ones from it and why?🤔 It's a tough question that requires tons of articles to answer it properly.
