🇮🇳 From 4th to 7th: Is India Losing Its Stock Market Leadership? Just a few months ago, India proudly held the position of the 4th-largest stock market in the world. Today, after being overtaken first by Taiwan and now by South Korea, India has slipped to the 7th position globally. 📉 What happened? Foreign Institutional Investors (FIIs) have been cautious on Indian equities. Valuation concerns have limited fresh inflows. Taiwan benefited from the global AI and semiconductor boom. South Korea witnessed strong gains in technology and export-driven stocks. But here's the bigger question: Is this a warning sign or a wealth-creation opportunity? Market-cap rankings change frequently and are often driven by short-term capital flows. What truly matters for long-term investors is: ✅ Corporate earnings growth ✅ Economic expansion ✅ Productivity improvements ✅ Wealth creation through quality businesses India remains one of the fastest-growing major economies in the world, and market leadership can shift again as economic cycles evolve. History shows that temporary rankings don't create wealth — owning great businesses does. The investors who focus only on rankings may miss opportunities. The investors who focus on fundamentals may benefit from them. What's your view? Is India's drop from 4th to 7th place a temporary setback or a sign of deeper challenges ahead? Share your thoughts below. 👇 #IndianStockMarket #Nifty50 #Sensex  #WealthCreation #LongTermInvesting  #IndiaGrowthStory

CABINET CLEARS CHANGES IN FPI TAX REGIME Changes To Apply To Select Categories Of Securities Ordinance Expected Soon

📣📣India plans to scrap capital gains tax on government securities for foreign portfolio investors (FPIs), reported The Economic Times on Thursday. Wednesday's Cabinet approved removing the tax on FPIs in government bonds, likely via an ordinance amending Income Tax rules. FPIs currently pay 12.5% long-term capital gains tax on listed shares and bonds held over 12 months, plus 20% withholding tax on government bond interest; both may be removed. FPIs have maintained net positive flows into Indian government debt this year ($1.4 billion), while nearly $28 billion was pulled from equity markets.

⚠️18 months before: India's market cap was 3.5 times South Korea and 2 times Taiwan. Now: India's market cap is less than South Korea and Taiwan.

✔️ *RBI Monetary Policy Review: (outcome on Friday)* * RBI likely to keep the *repo rate unchanged at 5.25%.* * Guidance and commentary on future rate actions will be the key focus. * Inflation risks have increased due to: * Higher crude oil prices * INR weakness * Weak monsoon concerns * BoP(Balance of Payments) risks remain due to: * Weak exports * Rising imports (oil, gold, electronics) * FII outflows and weak FDI * Growth remains uneven and fragile despite inflationary pressures. * India 10-year bond yield has already risen 35–40 bps, tightening financial conditions. * RBI may raise *inflation forecasts* but is likely to retain FY27 growth projections. * Policymakers expected to adopt a *wait-and-watch approach.* * Focus likely to remain on liquidity management rather than rate action.
