I miss you.
Not in the dramatic way people write about in books, and not in the way movies teach us to miss someone. I miss you quietly. Like an abandoned house misses the footsteps it once knew. Like a window misses the light after years of being covered in dust.
The strange thing is that life keeps moving. The sun still rises. People still laugh. Streets remain crowded. Yet somewhere between all of that noise, there is an absence shaped exactly like you.
I thought time would make things easier. I thought memories would fade into something distant and harmless. Instead, they became part of the architecture of my mind. They sit there silently, like old statues in a forgotten garden, untouched by seasons and indifferent to time.
Sometimes I wonder if you remember anything at all. Maybe I’m just another chapter you’ve already closed. Maybe the places, the words, the moments mean nothing now. But for me, they still exist in strange corners of my thoughts, appearing without warning in the middle of ordinary days.
I don’t wait for you anymore. I don’t chase ghosts. I don’t build fantasies around impossible endings. But there are nights when the silence becomes too honest, and in that silence, I find myself missing you again.
Not because I need you.
Not because I can’t live without you.
But because some people leave, and somehow their absence stays.
