the project you work on will be much more valuable if you make it specific to the company and the job you are applying for... choose a project that demonstrates your potential highlights your skills and shows how you could be useful to the company if you have a startup idea or business plan approach it the same way invest your time and effort into something that aligns with your goals demonstrates your abilities and has real potential to create value THE POINT IS:
focus on building something that makes people see what you can bring to the table

#4, Boredom
Give your brain time to process what you learn.
When something feels difficult, don’t immediately jump to another explanation. Stay with it. Struggle with it for a while, then step away and let your brain organize the information. Sometimes, the best way to understand something is to stop trying to understand it for a moment. #lesson @yosephwon

#3, Go Upstream Most content online is a summary of a summary of a summary.
Original research → someone summarizes it → a YouTuber summarizes that → someone turns it into a short video.
at this point a lot of the original context and reasoning is gone. instead, Go to the source. Read the original paper, documentation, book, or research. Follow the original thought process and explore the details yourself. Don’t just consume someone else’s understanding build your own. #lesson @yosephwon

#2, Learn in Public Put evidence of your learning everywhere.
Explain in public. Fail in public. Build in public. Learn in public.
Don’t wait until you’re “good enough” to share. Share what you’re learning, what you’re struggling with, and what you’ve figured out. This makes your progress visible and helps you see what you haven’t understood or explored yet. #lesson @yosephwon

#1, Know exactly what you want to learn. don’t just say “I wanna learn ML, AI, Web Dev, Video Editing…” that’s too broad. Instead, define something specific you want to be able to do. The best way to figure this out is simple
try to build or do something → get stuck → figure out what you’re missing → learn that specific thing.
the problem will tell you what you actually need to learn. #lesson @yosephwon
