The irony is that we are desperate to be different yet we are the first to fall in line when it comes to harmful trends. Everyone wants to be unique until its time to get the same fillers, the same botox, chase the same face or use the same harmful weight loss drugs to achieve the same alarmingly thin body For a generation obsessed with individuality, we seem remarkably comfortable copying each others insecurities

When you become so obsessed with appearing niche and different that you forget to actually work on yourself, to be less judgmental, less hateful, less self centered and less eager to label everything as "cringe" then you have a much bigger problem to deal with than being ordinary

I think our generations downfall started when everyone became obsessed with being “different” as if being ordinary is some kind of failure like its okay to like a popular movie. Its okay to listen to a mainstream artist. Its okay to dress simply and enjoy things that everyone else enjoys Not everything has to be niche, obscure or uniquely curated to be meaningful... sometimes you gen like something bc its good.. thats it
