In my view, despite potential drawbacks, the benefits of gaming suggest it is not entirely wasteful. Playing video games can significantly enhance the mental abilities of children. Through gameplay, they naturally develop cognitive and problem-solving skills. For example, games like Among Us feature puzzles and missions that require strategic and critical thinking. Reinforcement of such mental skills can lead to better academic performance at school. Additionally, playing video games helps to build computer skills. Since video games are often played on computers, children have the opportunity to learn how to navigate keyboard, improve hand-eye coordination, and network online. Considering these are crucial skills in today’s digital world, I regard playing video games as a worthwhile investment of time. However, it is undeniable that many video games are designed to be addictive, potentially leading to excessive gaming. Some might argue that children should prioritize education and physical activities to avoid issues like poor posture, vision problems, and obesity. Engaging in sports and academics can foster a more balanced and healthier lifestyle compared to excessive sitting, uncontrolled screen time, and snacking while playing computer games. In conclusion, while excessive gaming can negatively impact a person’s health, it contributes positively to cognitive development when balanced, justifying the view that playing video games is not always a waste of time.

When two advertising means are brought into comparison, for example, newspaper advertising or online advertising, I would say online advertising is more popular and profitable compared to newspaper advertising, because online advertising is more flexible in terms of timing.
