The table compares 5 different age groups in terms of the percentage of people who went cycling in 2011.
Overall, while riding bicycle was by far the most popular activity among the youngest age group, the reverse was true for people aged from 40 to 59, regardless of their gender. Moreover, females were more interested in cycling than their male counterparts in all age categories.
Focusing on big figures first, over half of the youngest age group went cycling in this town (51.5% for girls, 50.3 % for boys). This was followed by individuals belonging to the 10-17 age bracket. In this age category we can see the big difference between male and female bicycle riders with 24.6% and 42.2%.
Looking at the remaining age groups, while 18.5% of the oldest women went cycling, this figure for men was 13.2%. 17.1% females and 9.7% males between the age 18 and 39 rode bicycle. The lowest figures were 12.3% for women and 8% for men from the age 40-59 age category who went cycling.
