Iran’s Supreme National Security Council Secretary Mohsen Rezaei told Al Jazeera that future U.S. and Israeli actions could push Tehran to withdraw from the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT), although he stressed that no decision has yet been made.
Rezaei said any move to leave the treaty would depend on Washington’s future actions.
He added that Iran remains committed to late Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei's religious ruling prohibiting nuclear weapons and has not changed its nuclear doctrine, but cautioned: “We do not know what will happen in the future.”

The head of UNFIL says a smooth transition to the Lebanese army and other UN agencies will be critical before UNIFIL begins withdrawing at the end of 2026.
UNIFIL commander Maj. Gen. Diodato Abagnara said the force is already coordinating with Lebanese troops and UN agencies to maintain humanitarian assistance and share information about sensitive areas.
However, he warned that transferring some UN positions could be “very difficult,” as more than half are now located in areas occupied by Israeli forces.
Abagnara also described ongoing Israeli demolitions in the southern Lebanese town of Mansouri as a “violation.”

The U.S. Navy aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln (CVN-72) arrived in Guam today for a logistics stop after 302 days of deployment, accompanied by Carrier Air Wing 9 and the guided-missile destroyer USS Frank Petersen (DDG-121).
The carrier reached Apra Harbor after departing the South China Sea via the Sulu Sea.
The Guam stop marks Carrier Strike Group 3 personnel’s first return to U.S. territory in nine months and follows a port visit to Pattaya, Thailand, earlier this month.
The Lincoln carrier is expected to return to the U.S. West Coast in early October.
