FBI Director Kash Patel says the bureau has used artificial intelligence to help prevent school shootings in North Carolina and roughly half a dozen other states during his tenure.
Patel said he has increased the FBI’s use of AI by 605%, noting that the technology allows the bureau to rapidly analyze databases and information alongside private-sector partners and state and local authorities, identify potential threats, and send intelligence to agents in the field.
“We are going to continue the work of safeguarding our most precious resources, our children,” Patel said.
He also said that the FBI has made its largest technological advancements in the past 18 months.
