Pentecost(በዓለ ጰራቅሊጦስ) is one of the most biggest events in Christian history, celebrated 50 days after Easter. It remembers the day the Holy Spirit descended upon the apostles in Jerusalem, as described in the Book of Acts.
According to the Bible, the disciples suddenly spoke in different languages and gained the courage to begin spreading Christianity across the world. Many historians and theologians see this moment as the official beginning of the Christian Church.
In the Ethiopian Orthodox tradition, Pentecost is deeply respected as a spiritual and historical turning point. It represents divine guidance, wisdom, and the strengthening of believers through the Holy Spirit.
For centuries, Christians around the world have marked this day with prayers, church services, and celebrations honoring the moment the apostles transformed from fearful followers into bold messengers of faith.
