Meet my friends who work in Amazon, Berlin. We have know each other since 3rd or 4th year of University. They’re both A2SVian and we all went around the same time with a month apart one from another. I’m writing this without their consent so for now let’s call them AM and AS 😂. Mr. AM and I worked on the same project in A2SV and GC project. While Mr. AS was our assistant during my A2SV learning sessions and also an ALX grad. They’re f**king genius btw and of course I’ll never say this in front of them 😂. Somehow we’re different and it worked well in this trip (character wise). Tbh their stories are inspirational and may be one day you’ll hear their stories on big stages fr.

Of course but as a starter let me clarify that I said vertical scaling is more expensive than horizontal. So vertical scaling is basically adding RAM or CPU to an existing server. In order to accomplish that the server in itself must be high end. If the server is average or low end even if you add RAM or CPU the materials of the server cannot handle the newly added components. But when you scale it horizontally, you’re basically adding servers. When you add servers, you can just add average servers and the output can highly optimised by the algorithms you use to load balance the incoming requests as well as the geographical proximity of the servers. The cost of high end servers is way more expensive than few average servers combined making vertical scaling more expensive than horizontal. Hope that makes sense.

If you told one of us in this picture a year ago that we will be going to Spain for a vacation, we would ask you to give us what you’re smoking. We have never dreamed of this but here we are. I want to take this moment to be grateful to God, for Whom He never abandoned us in the wilderness. My bois and I have planned trips for the last three or four years in Ethiopia and never succeeded. These is the first of more incoming group trip. We have asked and prayed and God gave us more than we prayed, more than we asked and way more than we dreamed. I’ll write about something about these people sometime soon. Meanwhile I’ll enjoy the rest of my vacation. I was in Malaga, Spain and today we’re in Barcelona 😁.
