On September 14, 2026, U.S. Secretary of the Air Force Troy Meink stated that the U.S. Space Force has “on-orbit space control weapons” capable of being used to defend American forces and interests in space. The U.S. Space Force later confirmed that such capabilities are deployed in orbit. However, the United States has not disclosed what the weapons actually are.
