It is disobedience toward despair. The path continues for the one who refuses to sit down in the ruins.
This is how ordinary courage becomes sacred. Mystical faith is not waiting for a miracle to rewrite the past. It is walking toward the open light while the old letters still glow behind. Daily life proves the story is unfinished every time the heart chooses again. The one who keeps moving does not deny what cracked. It simply refuses to let the crack be the title. There is still a door. And the soul is still allowed to use it.

| 15 |  Autumn does not ask us to remain what we were. She teaches us the holiness of ripening, releasing, and beginning again.
I have been making her slowly, leaf by leaf, raven by raven, as a small hymn to this season I love so much.
She is Autumn Rising, and she comes at that exquisite threshold when summer begins loosening her grip and the world turns toward harvest, copper light, blue skies, cooling earth, and the first beautiful relinquishing.
For me, autumn has always felt profoundly feminine. Perhaps because our lives as women are so deeply cyclical. We are continually flowering and withdrawing, gathering and releasing, tending what has ripened and making peace with what must fall away. There are seasons when we are meant to bloom extravagantly, and others when the sacred work is simply to come home to ourselves.
Autumn reminds me that neither is more holy, but that I always am.
And through these coming months and encroaching darknesses, I will add tiny offerings around her as I find them: An acorn cap discovered on a walk, a russet leaf too beautiful to leave behind. A raven feather. A seed pod. A stone still warm from the last days of summer.
Small things.
But I have come to believe more and more that it is often these tiny rituals that keep us centered in the great turning of things.
They tell the body: You are here.
They tell the spirit: Pay attention.
They tell the soul: This moment, too, is sacred.
As we begin to bid farewell to summer, I am returning to some of my own autumn rituals. Music playing while the afternoon light changes. Autumn playlists. Candles lit before dusk. Patchouli incense curling through the room. Smoky Lapsang Souchong tea wrapped in velvet shawls. Bonfires and leaves burning and windows cracked open just enough to let the first cool air wander inside.
Nothing elaborate - just small ways of entering the season consciously instead of allowing it to pass unnoticed and unheeded.
Perhaps that is what ritual really is. Not ceremony for ceremony’s sake, but a way of placing ourselves back inside the living world.
A way of saying:
I see the leaves changing.
I feel the light shifting.
I know that I am changing too.
And I am willing to be here for it.

Your calling is between you and the Creator. Nobody else was on that line.
Stop exhausting yourself trying to explain to other people what was whispered into your soul. They weren’t there when you heard it. They didn’t feel what you felt. They didn’t experience the moments, the signs, the inner knowing, or that fire that kept pulling you toward something you couldn’t ignore.
It wasn’t a group text. It wasn’t a committee meeting. It wasn’t a conference call where everybody got a vote. The message was given to you because the path belongs to you.
And sometimes that path is going to look completely crazy to people standing on the outside of it.
It may ask you to walk away from things everyone else thinks you should hold onto. It may lead you somewhere nobody around you understands. It may stretch you, humble you, isolate you for a season, and force you to trust what you know inside even when there is absolutely no applause coming from the outside.
That’s part of it.
We spend so much of our lives looking around for permission. Waiting for someone to say, “Yes, I see it too.” But some of the most important things you will ever do with your life will begin long before anyone else can see what you see.
You don’t need everyone to understand your calling.
You need the courage to answer it.
Because when you finally stop asking the world to validate what the Creator already placed inside you, something changes. You become less concerned with explaining yourself and more committed to actually living it.
Trust what keeps calling you.
Trust the fire you cannot seem to put out.
And if nobody else understands the path yet, keep walking anyway.
They weren’t on the line.
You were.
