We're afraid to make changes.
We fear things might get worse than they are now, even when there's no solid reason to believe that. This is a defense mechanism refined over centuries.
▫️In ancient times, it was essential because the world was significantly more dangerous than it is today. Our very distant ancestors faced real threats everywhere—stepping out of a cave could mean encountering a wild beast!
So naturally, staying put seemed safer than taking risks. However, today, this protective instinct often hinders our progress.
We're scared to take the first step because we don't expect anything positive from the world. But think about it—what awaits the person who plans to spend their whole life in their comfort zone?
And what lies ahead for someone who gathers the courage to step outside and discover new worlds and opportunities?

Parable: "A Minute of Life"
A father, worried that his son was squandering his youth, invited him for a walk. It was a clear, windless day, and when they reached a lake, the father spoke to his son:
"Take a look at the entire landscape: the sky, the sun, and the mountains are all mirrored in the water."
Dipping his hand into the lake and shaking the droplets onto the ground, he asked his son to closely observe one of them, where the entire landscape was also reflected.
"The same goes for time," the father continued. "One minute possesses all the qualities of your entire life. It’s a macrocosm, reflecting the entirety of your day, just as one day is a microcosm of your entire life. Therefore, you must cherish every minute of this life."

How often do you watch someone else's actions and think, "If only they'd chosen A instead of B!" It can be tough to see someone you care about making obvious mistakes or poor choices. However, these choices are theirs to make, and it's beyond your control.
Notice that I don't refer to "right decisions." What is right varies from person to person. What might be right for you could be wrong for someone else. People should have the freedom to make their own decisions and learn from their mistakes.

How to Discover What You Want from Life?
To determine what you truly want, start by analyzing your desires and needs. Create a list of what holds importance to you, what inspires you, and what brings you satisfaction.
Consider asking yourself questions like:
- "What do I want to achieve?"
- "What matters most to me in life?"
- "What keeps me motivated?"
- "What am I hoping to avoid or change in my life?"
And so on...
Additionally, pay attention to your feelings and intuition to understand what attracts you and what doesn’t.
Engage in conversations with trusted friends and family to gain their insights and advice.
In the end, it's crucial to remain open to new experiences and be prepared to embrace changes in your life.

- The first thing to keep under wraps, they advise, is your long-term plans. Stay quiet until those plans come to fruition. Our ideas aren't flawless; they have many weaknesses that can easily be exploited to ruin everything.
- The second recommendation from the wise is not to reveal your acts of charity. Doing good is a rare treasure in this world, so it should be protected like the apple of your eye. Don't boast about your good deeds; pride will quickly swoop in and undo the benefits your charity has brought.
- The third area where discretion is advised is your personal life, particularly regarding family arguments and home life. Remember: the less you discuss family issues, the stronger and more stable your family will be. Disagreements can be an opportunity to release the negative energy that has built up during interactions.

1) Technique - Cutting Off
The moment you notice a negative thought creeping into your mind, simply cut it off. There's no need to analyze it, argue with it, or defend against it—just sever it and replace it with something else.
2) Technique - Labeling
This method is different from the first. Instead of cutting the thought off, we detach from it and observe it from a distance. We watch it without letting it take control. Negative thoughts only have power over you if you react to them.
3) Technique - Contradiction
Whatever a negative thought tells us, we should transform into its exact opposite. If you think, "I won't succeed in making the sale," replace it with a completely contrary thought, such as "I will definitely succeed in making the sale." It is impossible to focus on both negative and positive thoughts at the same time; the mind can only concentrate on one.
